Osgood is 100 times better than anyone on this forum, if you disagree, than explain why he is in the NHL and you are NOT! If you were better than any NHL goalie, you would have their roster spot, you don't, so saying that a goalie that is better than you sucks is really saying that maybe you should look at your own game first.

So you're saying that EVERY sports analyst that comments on how bad a goalie is, or how weak a goal is, can't obviously be correct, because if they were then they'd be in net instead? Dude, that argument was possibly the WORST ever. If I was that good and in the NHL, I wouldn't be spending my time on this forum. This probably ties Jedi's argument about NHLers not being able to have RBK pads that are just re-stitched (or whatever he was aruging in the other thread) as the lamest comment I've ever read.

Umm, allow me to continue:
Fluery, Ellis, Anderson, Toskala (if he wasn't in Toronto, he'd be putting up wins too!!! OMG!), Vokoun, and the list goes on... basically all except Cujo, Pogge, and whoever the hell Ottawa has these days.

And yet, he's horrible in sv% and GAA, which ultimately (as the forum has concluded in another thread) determines who is the better goalie.

Wow I guess ignorance truly is bliss. You're telling me that Osgood is great because he plays in the NHL and he was once a great goalie so he must still be a great goalie? So that means Fuhr, Hextall, Sawchuck, Plante, etc etc must still be great goalies? Osgood is done. You can't tell me it's the team, because Conklin is posting WAY better numbers with the (you might want to sit down fort this) SAME TEAM IN FRONT OF HIM! Shocked No way! I'm not in the NHL because I'm not even ECHL quality and I know that, that doesn't disqualify me from recognizing a goalie that is past his prime or letting in bad goals. And if you want to quote me and tell me why I should say he sucks, you might want to make sure I actually said he sucks first. Just a thought.

Of all the currently active NHL goalies in the league, I can only name 4 that I would rather see in Ozzie's place. Luongo, Nabokov, S. Mason, and Brodeur.

Bottom line, he is a better goalie than me, a better goalie than you, and a better goalie than 90% of the NHL goalies.

First of all, 100 times better then anyone on this forum is really stretching it. Yes, he is better, which is why he is an NHL goalie, but, you can't look at a username on a forum and tell how good that person is. As well, no sense in acting like an a**hole just because you don't agree with someone. Please keep that in mind.

Okay, so you only have four NHL goalies that you would rather see in Ozzie's place. That's your opinion. Good for you. If I were a Detroit fan, there are at least 15 goalies I would rather have, but that's just me.

Bottom line is: He is a better goalie then you and a better goalie then me....but, he is not a better goalie then 90% of the goalies in the NHL....at least not at this point in his career. He has had a great career and seasons where I probably would have put him in the top 5. Right now is not one of those seasons though.

BTW, no one said he sucked so please quit harping on that.

The real bottom line is you need to realize that other people are not always going to agree with your opinion....so don't attack them(with your keyboard) just because they don't.

Thank You

I’m LOOKING at the FACTS and FOR and NHL GOALIE, he is DOING pretty BRUTAL this YEAR! GOOD team DOESNT make a GOOD GOALIE!

Seriously, calm down on the caps, we understand what you are saying.

He wouldn't be much of a downgrade from the way Osgood is playing this year. Laughing

Ozzie is not the problem. The problem is the defense in front of him. If Detroit's defense was the same this as it was last year, he wouldn't be having the troubles that he has.

Even with the poor defense, he still has one of the better records in the league.

As of 4-2-09, he is 24-8-7, ranks I think 10th all time in wins and has 3 Cups.

What is your record this year?
How many NHL games have you won?
How many times is your name on the Cup?

Check yourself before you try and talk down about a future Hall of Fame goalie.

Wow! Way to over react guy! First off i never said he was a bad a goalie. I said he was having a bad year. And it's true. Sorry

Secondly, it doesn't matter anyway. Conklin will be playing in the playoffs.

Osgood 24-8-7 3.17 GAA .884 Sp%
Conklin 25-9-2 2.42 GAA .912 Sp%

You do the math

Rolling Eyes someone's a fanboy. There was a good argument that Osgood was underrated... then this season happened. Detroit isn't playing as well as they normally do, Kronwall really isn't playing like he did last season. Lidstrom is still Mr. Norris Trophy though, and Lilja, Lebda... even the 85,372 year old Chelios is a top 4 or 5 defenseman on most teams, and he's their 7th-8th guy right now. Detroit hasn't played AS well defensively as they normally do, but they FAR from suck on the blue line.

They still give up the 4th fewest shots on goal against, but they're 20th in goals against, that falls at the feet of the goalies. Given the disparity between Conklin and Osgood's numbers; it's falls at the feet of Osgood.

I am actually going to disagree with this statement. Osgood is probably 500 times better than me. But, 100 times better??? Thanks for the compliment.

Well, I will stay out of the Osgood fight, but didn't Hasek come out of retirement a couple of times already?
