Or your team if you plan on playing with them for a while.

i asked cuz somebody said he designed it himself, so woudn't HE have the copyrights Confused

if i make it past high school, im gonna get my mask painted. itll be a red brick wall all the way around. and if i sign a long term contract with a team, im gonna have their logo put on both sides of it, and the city name across the front in grafitti font. and on the bottom chin, its gonna say, "THE WALL" and the back of the mask will be all white. i dont know why though

You should put something else on the backplate, like a nickname if they give you one.

One of my friends did something like that, except he had the logo on the sides of the mask.

I wish I could wear one of these. The mask is too tight on the sides and crushes my head.

Mind you, I've never tried a weird mask, but I have to wonder, why do these 3 goalies always wear such weird masks? Osgood looks like he wears a player helmet with a cage, Thomas looks like he has bug deflectors...which I suppose could be useful.

However if there was really an advantage it wouldn't be 3 people wearing them...

I dont think your whole question was ever answered. Thomas does where the Mage as said before. Osgood actually does where a player helmet and cage (like I wear when I play goal) and Hasek wears (or wore) a helmet designed to look and feel like a player helmet/cage.

The helmet/cages warrent better vision and they do not feel as stuffy after playing for a while, plus they are much lighter.

The downside is, they can hurt like heck when you take a puck to the head/face. Make sure the design of the helmet and cage will deflect impacts off to the sides. There should be no flat spots facing the shooter. Remember the Hasek Mastercard commercial, when it says "Mask for Face: $150" it shows a clip of hasek bein hit in the face and being knocked backward onto his butt. With traditional goalie helmets, you don't get that.

sometime after the commercial was made though, Hasek switched to a fiberglass helmet that only looks like a player helmet so it is just as safe as any other goalie mask.

I know very well that the helmet needs to have no flat spots. I have taken it pucks to the head with my plastic helmet before and never got knocked over and with no long term after effects (5 min). Taking one off the cage is the problem though. I am going to either buy a mask or upgrade my combo soon.
