a pic i found of Martin Prusek when he was with the Sens shows that he wears (or wore) the newer Hasek model combo. Most of yous don't seem to get the difference between the Osgood combo and the Hasek combo, Osgoods combo uses a long discontinued players helmet. Haseks recent combo is a one piece composite helmet.

I totally agree. Roy didn't try to come back. I bet Brodeur won't try to come back. Just because Hasek only got one cup (or was it two) with the Wings doesn't mean he needs to keep coming back..

I understand the difference, but it's still a combo whether it's one piece composite or players helmet.

I think some people still get on Haseks case for not wearing something thats as "safe" as a regular mask but his combo anyway is just as safe. Osgoods on the other hand I am not sure. They havent mass produced Osgood's combo since Cooper was bought out by Bauer in like the early 90's.

Personally I think Hasek's is just as safe as any pro series "regular" mask. Osgood's has always scared me.

The last couple of times i played I wore a combo exactly like Haseks "old" model, which was Osgoods helmet with a different cage. If I remember I may post pics of it tomorrow.

Hasek's model is made of Kevlar which puts it equal with the highest level mask. Osgood actually had a Hasek model to use but as of now he has never used it.

probably one of the oddest looking combos I have seen, this is Tommy Soderstrom, from what I have heard this guy wasn't all that good of a goalie:

From what it looks like the chin cup isnt even on his chin Confused

an ugly combo (or a mask with a bad paint job for that mattr) might have an advantage by being so ugly they might psyche out the shooter.

If you thought the one above was ugly, check this out:
