Arth... I know you are an Av's fan so sorry bout this. But does any team have a worse goaltending duo than Colorado? These guys have been brutal this year
I know the Av's have alot of injuries this year, but that's when you need your goalies to step up and they haven't. I don't know who is on the market this summer, but i would bet Colorado will be the first team in line for a starting goalie come free agency |

| Sorry for what? I couldn't agree more. Right now I'd take a rusty and completely cold goalie like Hasek over both Raycroft and Budaj. Budaj was a crappy backup for Aebischer and he's still crappy. We SERIOUSLY need a better goalie in the net if they ever want to win a game again. |

I thought the way Raycroft was playing at the start of the year he would become the starter. But he fell apart again. How do go from winning the Calder to this?
Anyway, i don't know who's gonna be available but they are definately goin after a starting tendy. Might have to bring back Aebischer. Or maybe you guys are the team that gives Emery another shot. |

| Dear god anything but that. I'll take Cman in net before they put Emery in...I'm hoping CuJo to be honest. He's pretty solid as Gerber's backup and maybe he has a good year or two left to give us some rebuild time...if he'll negotiate a fair contract anyways. |

| They won't sign Cujo to be the starter. The Leafs will unload either Gerber or Toskala so they will be available. Chicago will probably get rid of one of their goalies. I could see Giguere getting traded. Maybe Labarbara from Vancouver. Auld from Ottawa. Manny Fernandez maybe. There should be lot's of options for them to upgrade |

| Options sure, but whether or not they're smart enough to realize that goaltending is their biggest downfall right now or not is what's truly the issue. There's a bunch of great goalies or at least huge upgrades from Raycroft and Budaj out there that are probably going to become available so lets hope the Avs pick one of them and start rebuilding already. |

To answer Doosh, you go from the Calder to that by being a young goalie for the Boston Bruins. They treat young goalies like yo-yos. Call them up, play them, one bad game, send them down for a few weeks, call them up, play a couple games, send them back down for a few weeks, call them up again... repeat repeat repeat. They did it to Toivonen too. They would've done it to Thomas (even if he isn't young) if Fernandez wasn't made of glass.
Young NHL goalies like that, you start playing with their heads, destroying their confidence, screwing with their games. Raycroft had potential, but he has no confidence now. If you watch his old games, he was challenging shooters, on top of the crease, letting his arms and legs go to make the saves. Watch him now, he stands deep in his crease, is incredibly conservative with his goaltending, never leaving the basic butterfly w/ arms tight to the body, or lifts his glove a little to make the effort, but slow and hesitantly.
The more goals that go in on him, the worse he'll get. He'll work in the offseason, build up his confidence, come back, have a fairly good start, and then just fall apart after a subpar game or two... he'll revert to his mindset when the Bruins were bouncing him between leagues.
If I was a young goalie in the draft, I would hold my breath everytime Boston had a pick coming up. Last place I'd want to go as a aspiring minder, right behind... Colorado and Toronto of course.
Best teams to go: Detroit and Florida. Why Florida you ask? Warm weather, beaches, blue skies, and 35 shots a game average. For someone that loves getting hit by pucks, there's no where better to be. _________________ Because it hurts so good.
