Hey Everyone, I'm looking for a new set of goalie pads and I'm looking for advice from anyone.
I'm especially interested in the RBK Turco Custom Leg Pad And would love to have advice from anyone who has or has worn that pad.
The other pads I'm looking at and would like advice on are
TPS R8 Lundqvist
TPS Summit Roloson
Itech 12.8x
Simmons 994
Help me out please! _________________ #37 |

I have the older summit pads, like the first ones they came out with and they've worked great. The thing i really like is how comfortable they are, Ive used em for 3 seasons, 3 spring, 3 fall and they've held up fantastically, the only reason i need to get new pads is because im almost 5.5 inches bigger than they are in size. _________________ #37 |

I have the R8's I love everything about them EXCEPT!! the rebounds that come off of them piss me off like no other! In my 8Ks the puck would hit the pad and be right there for me to cover, but in the R8's it just launches, and usually it goes to players. I hope ill get used to it before any games. _________________

i know wut u mean but....it's called rebound control man, u can't rely on ur equipment to fix all ur problems.... learn to direct everything to the corners and u'll be fine. _________________ Pads-Simmons 993. (995's are on the way)

I'm going monday to look at a pair of TPS Bionic pads, blocker and trapper, and TPS Chest protector. According to the seller, they are 3 years old, only used 1 season before he grew out of them, only puck marks as far as condition, and is asking $600. Does anyone have any experience with these pads, pr TPS in general? I'm upgrading from the tour pads shown in canadian_man_44's post (http://www.goalieforum.com/goalie-equipment-reviews-f2/smith-5000-pads-blocker-and-trapper-review-topic1362.html), matching leg pads, blocker and trapper, and chest protector. I'm trying to branch into ice hockey besides just roller hockey, and figured this might be a great price to start. Here are some pics of what he is offering:

Not the best pictures, but I get the basic idea. I would love to get a set of Vaughn Epic 8800's, but I can't throw that much coin out on gear right now.
Let me know what you think.
Thanks. |
