|
|
k so i bought the brand new tps r10 pads and love them. I am buying new gloves for next season (juniour year) cause my V3's r gettin floppy n soft. Now here is my queston. When buying my pads i had the chance to try on the r8 set and r10 set. When it came to the pads, the r10s were an obvious choice cause they were crazy light and flexible and i didnt need all the "stiffness adjustments" and wrapp around leg crap. When it came to the gloves, again the r10 blocker was the obvious choice. When i took at look at the trapper i was suprised. They weigh about the same, the r8 maybe even lighter, and the r10 was soo stiff i couldnt even close it. The r8 however was already practically game ready, sort of like the reebok gloves. Is this just coincidence, cause they only had one r8 catcher or did they just really beef up the palm cause im debating weither or not to get the r10s, or just order the r8's in custom to match my r10 pads.
On a side note, what are the ps3 gloves like cause i have also been looking at those? |

was the R10 glove Lundqvist spec? cause if it was, they add about 5 more layers of stiffener to the palm so that it stays as wide as possible, hence the "Lundqvist scoop" _________________ Height: 6'1

lol yea i believe both gloves were lundquvist spec. The R8 glove was even in NYR colours but it still had alot more flexibility... is the stiffness a new thing for 09?
If i already have a glove that wont close properly to catch should i not go with the RBK or should i try to get used to the R10 stuff to be rockin a full set? |

K so i solved the problem as to why the two gloves were differet. The R-8 (2007/0 was lundquvist spec which is "modified 65.5 degree double break with pro palm. The 09 R10 glove is a "control coverage" glove which means its basically not intended to be closed but rather a giant frying pan to block space.... is there any way i can either order the r8's with the r10 graphic, or order the r10s with the 65.5 degree double break? |

All of Lundqvists gloves are that stiff, "I dont need to close it" he says. And the glove is ment to be be that way so you either get used to not closing it or dont buy it And you'd have to talk to your local store about ordering the custom stuff on the glove, but im guessing thre nice people at TPS could do that no prob _________________ Height: 6'1

ok, let me know how that goes. And try doing the Lundqvist scoop when you catch the puck (Just craddle it to your stomache when the pucks in your glove) _________________ Height: 6'1
