Most chest pads by TPS aren't very good.

The RBK units are nice. Vaughn is decent, you give up a little protection for a lot of mobility. Brown is by far the best, but they are expensive and hell to break in.

im looking for a c/a myself im thinking of going with the V3 jimmy howard spec, as my 1 choice.
or maybe a rbk p2 they have them on clearance at goalie monkey http://www.goaliemonkey.com/rbk-goalie-chest-arm-protector-monkeyspec-premier-2-pro.html
any reviews on either or tips on which one would be easier to break in

The P2 is very, very weird. Its really stiff and odd shaped. The arms (in a medium and large) are way to big for me. I got a V3 and it was broke in the first time i used it. Best thing ever!

My sister has an RBK cp and the straps keep falling apart, or coming loose. I'm not sure of what model it is, but she plays Peewee A hockey... so it's not a horribly cheap one by any means.

I have a DR cp and it's definately not the greatest in terms of protection from stingers. I can feel a fair amount of shots through it, and I only play Intermediate C level.. so the shots aren't that hard.

Yeah, I've heard that Vaughn is one of the best C/A's out there. And I havn't heard any bad things about the RX seires. I am gonna go there when this C/A I have is done. It's a large, but I adjusted it all, so it fits like a medium, so as far as growing out of it, it'll be a while. But it isn't very protective at all. But hey, it's an ITECH 4.8 Prodigy, ya get what ya take. Very mobile, though. Smile
