Cman- I agree with the review on the leg pads. I believe I got mine just a day or so after you. Two games in the new pads, and I can't believe how much leg pads have changed since I bought mine so long ago. I love my new pads.
I am interested in the smith glove and blocker, and I appreciate the side by side reviews of the equipment. The glove looks like it has a bit more padding up the forearm which is nice when your getting hacked at.
Let me know how they feel after a few more games.
I think FS93 is jealous of our gear he seems to get uptight when Smith gets good reviews. _________________

Hey Cman-mind if I beat a dead horse here and ask for a "One Year Review"? New pictures, ratings etc. I know I know...you love them, you've made that clear...but I'd like to see a long term review with numbers and shiny pictures...cause I'm kinda absent minded and I think pictures are pretty. |

Yeah, I'll see what I can do for ya. Kinda busy this weekend though so it may be a few days. I'm playing again on Monday night so maybe I'll be able to take some pictures before I hang the gear to dry.
Let me know if there's anything in particular you want more information or numbers on as well as any particular shots of the pads other then the regular shots. _________________

| Well you've done an excellent job of answering questions I had, so I figured it'd be nice to have a "year later" review for anyone else who looks into them. Basically the same stuff as your first post just...the year laters marks. |

Less than 1300 if I remember correctly. Can't you do math? The prices are on Smith's site. |

I would agree... all reviews I have seen of Smith gear are solid reviews and people who have used them seem to like them, so I am not saying they are a bad bad.
I am saying you cannot say Smith pads are awesome when the other pad you used was a set of Tours that even on an inline level havent been considered up to par.
If you came from the RBK PS or the Vaughn V1 series to the Smiths and said they are the best pad you have used (while still being preference) it would be saying a lot about Smith... but to go from Tour and old old model TPS gear it still leaves a lot of room for outside interpretation.
Im glad you are enjoying your pads and I hope they continue to satisfy for a long time. _________________ you're only as good as your last save

No, I'm just good at spelling and grammar Nobody said anything about math.
Hawks - When I get my Smith pads (Not until a year or so) I'll be coming from RBKs. My sister will be coming from Vaughn. I think you'll get a pretty accurate comparison there |

Just for the record Hawk, I was asked what I was coming from, not what I've owned or used in the past. The gear in the picture was just some of the stuff I've owned and the only part of my older gear that I still had around since I generally get rid of the old gear after playing a few games in the new stuff.
I have owned Vics, Browns, Itechs, Coopers and CCM's. I have used RBK's, Vaughns and Eagles. I'm not going to get into the list of models, except to say that I tried every pro level pad I could get my hands on before I purchased the Smiths as I didn't want to make a decision that cost that much money without knowing what I was getting. In comparison to all of the others, I like the Smiths better.
In conclusion, I was asked for a comparison with what I was coming from to the Smiths. That's what I gave......my last set of gear to the Smiths. I wasn't asked to give a detailed list of all the brands and models of pads I have used in the past and compare to the Smiths. Suffice it to say, I didn't take the decision to get Smiths lightly. They are the best pads, blocker and trapper I've owned and they are the best pads, blocker and trapper that I've ever used. Is that alright with you???? _________________

| Yeah, I'm so not doing the math because our dollars have been on this weird competition curve for a while now. For a month or so your looney was worth more than our dollar even...1500 CDN sounds like it should be about 1100 USD though. |

Dont take it personal... I nor a lot of people who will come across this know what other pads you have used.
If I write a review on my Simmons gear and say it is the best I have used... then post a picture of my old Mylec stuff people arent going to think much of my review... despite the fact that I have used Vaughn and RBK and CCM... understand my point? _________________ you're only as good as your last save
