just thought I'd point out, goalie94... in the other thread about the 9K gear, you made a post that said you thought it looked good...

and you wonder why I call you a hypocrite at every opportunity... Rolling Eyes

Why does every comment on EVERYTHING I DO. I never said they didn't look good, actually they look sick just the material of them looks funny.

BTW: I really don't blame you though, i am kinda an idiot at times.

Because half the time you don't make sense, or you contradict yourself and it's really quite annoying to read how you love the look of the pads, and in a different thread you think it looks weird. Pick one side and stick to it and I'll get off your back.

Wow, one more time, i like the look(as in the color and graphic) but the material (as in what it is made of) looks funny. Not the actual pad itself. Get it now Exclamation

Rolling Eyes You didn't have to reiterate yourself. Just let it go man. You asked me why I always attacked you, and I answered.

So I got the pads today albeit I had a little difficulty. Firstly I went to Source for Sports, and I drop off my old pads. Then my dad's like "You've got two minutes". So I come down with the 9k's 33+1 and he's like "Are you mental, those would fit a 7 foot tall man!". I'm trying to explain that I fit these, and this is all coming from the man who has never set foot on the ice before Rolling Eyes . So I had to go get the International ones that wre 31+1, and they seem to fit alright. I had to change the colours to base white, with red and black stripes because I wanted the Turco Break, and they only had it in those colours.

I'll post pictures tomorrow.

If the 33" + 1" fit you, why would you let your dad talk you out of them? What's your ATK Veej? Because mine's 16.5" and I was pretty good in 33" 7Ks.

Because he's a di**... Laughing . It doesn't really matter to me that much, they seem to fit. One time I got 33+1 when my ATK said I could wear 34+1, and they ended up being past my waist. I'll have to measure it again. Next time I get new pads, I'm going by myself with my own money that I get from a job, so he'll have no say. And I'll drive myself there too.

Most important part Laughing

When you went to the store, did you bring your skates and try on the pads with them? Because if you actually tried on the 33 + 1 and they fit... I'd just tell your dad he's crazy for downsizing you Laughing

Tried my new P3s pads for the first time last night

I had 8ks in the past, and I liked the style but the quality was shit. they were done for after 7 months of playing them. so i was reluctant to go back to Reebok, but finally got convinced by a friend who plays university level and had the P2s and never had any problem with them wearng down. So there I am ordering 34+2 P3s.

First, the size fits amazingly well. I had 35+1, and the outside was already good, but the knees were too high, interfering with my basic stance. 34+2 fit better, and the +2 is amazing in so many ways. but i would not recomend more than +2, unless you're like 6'3''.
The pads were'nt noticably lighter than any of the block pads I've tried, except maybe lighter than Vaughn's, and then again I played in V2s first generation. But they are defenitely the stiffest pads I've played in. Which isn't necessarily bad. I actually loved how stiff they were becase the S curve is all I needed to get a beatifucl butterfly. And they take a LOT of room in the net.
It IS a little bit harder to move around in such big and stiff pads, but once I got used to it, I realised I only needed to push a little harder and everything came naturally. not different than any other pads.
They slide well, much better than ITechs, rotate as you would expect any block pad to rotate, and leave good movement around the foot and ankle to maneuver around without interference. That is a big plus for me, because I don't like to feel like my foot is clogged restrained.
Finally, the rebound control is probably the most different from the hybrid pads that I came from. These pads don't absorb anything. the rebounds go far and fast. No rebound landed even close to me. they all bounced in the corners or past the circles.

Overall I'm pretty happy with these, but then again I knew I would be because I had liked my 8Ks. I kned what I was getting. I understand why so many goalies, Pro or not, use the Reebok pads. The only issue to me remains to see how well they will hold up, how long can I drive them around as I do before anything breaks or rips. I'll keep you informed. And I can post pictures if anyone is interested.

Source for Sports, eh? Just curious, did you ask a sales person for assistance?

If my dad had any say in my pads....I'd still be playing forward. Laughing Luckily I'm old enough that his hockey views don't matter.

Ive had my 6k pads for about 1.5-2 years and have broken through 2 toe straps, one snapped through use and the other snapped because of a misstep. Overall, I am very happy with these pads, probably best pair I have ever owned.

Nice. I'm digging the mostly black/white highlights look.

I already knew what I needed at that point, it was not that I was unfamiliar with the pads, I had tried them on with my uncle when i went there the week before.
