HELP ME PLEASE!

Okay so for the last couple years now i have owned Itech's, starting with the 7.8s and then upgrading to the 12.8s. They were not my favorite pads, I just got them for a really good deal so i couldnt resist... Before i got those i wore Vaughn 7000s and loved them! But now my 12.8s are completely torn down the sides as the leather is VERY cheap!! im having a very hard time sliding because most of the leather is gone so it gets stuck to the ice alot. Sad So for christmas my parents are pitching in a little but they dont have very much money at all so im either going to get the Vaughn 7400's or the RbK 8K 'Turco Break' pads because they seem really nice and cheap. I was sort of leaning towards the 7400s because I think they would look great in all white, but I just found out they only come in a couple different colors and the only one that would fit my team colors is the white with 2 black stripes....and like 3 other goalies in my association already have those Confused. So i started considering my other options and came across the 8K's and with the Turco Break they seem like they would be more similar to Vaughns style and they look amazing!!! I just have never tried them out before so im not sure how they feel...

My style is butterfly, I like my pads tight, and i move fast...

Basically i want to know what is the overall better pad.

Please help me out!!!

It's not a matter of what is the better pad. They are both decent, but they are different. The Vaughn pad is more of a hybrid and feels nothing like the RBK(even if it has a Turco break). The RBK pad is meant to be worn loose so if you like your pads tight you might be better off in the Vaughn. Plus you have worn Vaughn before so you would be more used to the feeling.

I used to wear my pads tight also. Then i switched to RBK and now i wear my pads super loose and can't imagine going to anything else. You can get used to anything if you use it long enough.

You should just go to a store and try them both on with skates and pants and do some carpet fly's and movements and see which feels best

yeah i was choosing between the 2 same pads but i chose the RBK 8K turco breaks. i love them, the butterfly is amazing in them. the 5 hole is completely shut. on the rebounds, the puck flys off of them so you just have to make sure you have good rebound control. the turco break pads also come in better colors and sizing then the vaughn 7400. anyways the rbk's are an amazing set of pads. the breaks in them really help seeing i came from the 7k's that didnt have the breaks. so i got the 8k turco breaks in all white and i also got the set of glove and blocker in all white

Yeah thanks...my itechs dont really have that good of 5 hole coverage so I would love to have some pads that do...and I really want the same pads you have all white turco breaks.

Btw shawnee, what level are you playing at? high school?

I found that my itechs tend to create a V when in the butterfly. the open V is the bottom pieces of the pads touching but the tops are open. i have an extra strap added to the top of the pad, if i put that tight it pulls the butterfly together nicely.

crappy quality, but you can see the V.

oh yaeh i know i figured the all white would be good because i dont really have to worry about my team colors. one of them is green black white and the other is blue light blue white so all white looks fine with both of them
