I have recently been looking for new sets of leg pads and i brought my choices down to the Nike Bauer Supreme One75 and the RBK 8K "Turco Break" pads. Right now i am using RBK 6K which are 12 inches wide so they really affect my movement and speed which makes me the goalie i am. So i was wanting a new set of pads but not sure what to get. I play AA travel hockey and varsity high school hockey so i am on the ice almost everyday of the week. I'm just not sure what pads to get.
Thanks |

| Yeah I'm considering them more now in all white. I just want to make sure they will be fine. Do you have them? |

| rbks are very similar to one75. they are both stiff, curved butterfly pads. I have tried on the higher end version of all these pads when i went shopping (rbk ps2's/ps3's, one95s and other higher end pads). I found the bauer series (along with tps) tend to be very light. They are also very board like because they are thin so the puck hits them hard and hollow. RBK are stiff, but more pillow like on the outside so they hit it more like a pillow. Depending on your style of rebound control, the board like pads hit hard and have fluttery rebounds, the rbk as well as vaughn cushion and bounce the puck. RBK are really hard to break in as they are really stiff but tend to hold their shape better over time. softer pads tend to break down faster and get floppy. its really preference. while rbk and bauer have similarities that are evident, they do both have their pro's and cons. One point i might add is bauer has better customer service and their order times are like less than 1/3 as long, but thats just my experience. See if you can find some demo's somewhere that you can take on the ice, thats my best advice. Your not guna get anywhere asking what is better because the reebok fans will tell you to get the 8's and the bauer fans will tell you to go bauer. Im pretty neutral as i dont have a brand preferece as long as its mainsteam and shiney lol. |
