Hi All,

Time for a new pair of pads, no more sewing can hold my old Vaughns together anymore.

Due to the awesome closeout type pricing at goaliemonkey, I'm going with either the 6k or the Xpulse 6.0

Now let me preface this by saying that I play only one, MAYBE 2 times a week at the most, and not in overly competitive league. I know both of these pads are imported from Asia, and not of the greatest quality compared to the higher end stuff.

That being said, I simply don't need the higher end stuff. Either of these will do.

However I would like an opinion on which people think are better. From my reading I can gather that overall, the X-pulse 6.0's are not as good as the 6K's, comparatively. Is this true?

Any input is appreciated. I'll be ordering this weekend.

I've never tried the Xpulses, but I have 7Ks which are as close as the 6Ks as you can get. I'm not sure of what the differences are, but if you're only playing twice a week they're a good pad to use. I've been using mine up to 4 times a week, and it's starting to show along the bottom of the pads where it makes contact with the ice. That's the only durability issue I've had with them.

i have 6k's, they're great, unless you don't butterfly often, then i wouldn't recommend them.

I don't have any first-hand experience, but to me, the X-Pulses just look cheap. FWIW.

A good buddy of mine is on year 2 or 3 of his 6k's, he got them when they first came out. he plays 2 seasons a year, and plays 2 times a week. they're starting to break down a bit now, but i'm impressed with how well they've worked for him.

do not even consider low end itech stuff though. Smile and i'm the itech warrior.

Yeah, they sure LOOK nice. But once they fall apart on you they aren't going to be nice.

End idiot parade. You're not contributing anything meaningful to this thread.

How not? I've seen torn up 6ks, even from goalie that don't play much. They look like nice and decent pads, but their qaulity is far from it.

Now, if I were going on an idiot parade, I would be talking about my height and weight on this thread.

As such, it actually had relevence to the video. More so than the other comments about sig pictures (which I am guilty of being a part of).

In regards to the quality - I agree completely. Mine are just annoying the hell out of me now.

Save yourself some issues and go for Smiths!
