And yet... "You got what you paid for"

I have to congratulate you on being able to admit you were a dumbass, knowing full well the equipment was cheap Wink

Look PS, you can get catty with me all you want but it's as simple as what you already posted. How can you on one hand congratulate me on realizing my err then on the other get mad at me for trying to save you $300?

Sorry I was trying to look out for you.

probably, and i know i'm going to catch flak for this, because youre a girl and facing girls. they just dont shoot as hard... they skate pretty good and can handle the puck, but bottom line is they just dont shoot too hard. thats probably why you havent had problems with stingers, and the fitting issue is also probably due to your presumably smaller hands.

That's what i've been saying this whole time, the gist of it. I'm fully aware the girls in my league don't shoot as hard. When I filled in for the AA Midget girls team for a couple of practices, those shots were hard. Still not as hard as the guys playing AA.

Arth - the reasoning behind that was because you had complained about it not working for you. I've said it before, but if the 5K has worked out perfectly for me, there's very little reason to not expect the same from the 6K.

Regardless, they should be here by tomorrow, so the minute I get them you can bet I'll be posting on here, either talking about how Arth was right, and I was wrong... or that they're just like my 5Ks, and can last a couple seasons of girls hockey.

I dont think it would be the hardness of the shots so much that would break down the gear, so much as it would be as examples the crease being more torn up and the overall condition of the game resulting in the gear needing stronger more durable materials. I feel they are desinged to point and level of play giving the user some latitude for occasional up play but not consistant up play.

Okay, I got them in less than an hour ago, so these are my out of the box impressions. No game play until probably next year. I have a couple of games with the women's league I got asked to fill in for, but I think I'll stick to my old blocker & trapper until I get these guys worked in.

As a starting point...
I'm coming from a set of NON-NHL legal 5K Sr. blocker & trapper. These new ones are (duh) smaller, because they are NHL legal. I think the hardest will getting used to the blocker, and even that is just a slight adjustment.

Trapper impressions -
It comes basically pre-broken in. Glove closed really easily. I think the hardest part will be getting it to stay open as wide as my other trapper, which I had the same problem. The trapper & blocker are both made in China, but so were my last set. Basically, the 5K and the 6K are the same, except for the design and the sizing. So far I'm pretty impressed, but then again I haven't put any wear on them yet. When I start using them next season, I'll be able to give a better review.

Blocker impressions -
The wrist area seems pretty tight, even though I loosened it. I think I remember my 5K being the same way, and now it's fine after having been broken in. I suspect this one will be the same way. Other than that, it's basically identical to the 5K, exception being the size. I'll just have to adjust to not having that extra width to deflect pucks with.

Again, this is only my out of the box review... and once I wear them a couple times in games or practices, I can give a better review.
