IMO these are inexpensive c/a options.
Not the high priced $300 options.
More like clearance rank items for $115 to $200.
Furthermore, these aren't new items.
I'm posting this in case someone else is shopping the clearance rack and/or used gear.....

The 4.8 is the blue/black, used set on the LEFT.
Bought this about a year ago, on clearance for $120.

The RX5 was purchased last week at goaliemonkey for approx $150.
It's red/black, on the RIGHT.

The 4.8 was very comfy, incredibly lightweight. Buckle straps.
Only stingers were on the arm, in an area that is later highlighted in a pic of the new set.
This area is still not protected by this newer c/a.

I ordered a RBK pII sr. c/a that came in WAY TOO large compared to other companies SAME SIZE.
I think that is expected at this point.
BUT it was ginormous.
It would barely fit under my jersey.
It was incredibly stiff.
I couldn't even get my jersey off.
So it was returned for the cheaper, less protective, more comfy itech RX5.
Goalie monkey. I had to pay shipping back. And then I'm not sure if they charged me shipping to get the new pads.
But def no restocking fee.
It was confirmed by their rep, that the fit of the itech is better for me.
And the comfort level was the big thing for me.
I'd rather be 100% comfy and flexible, and take a stinger 1x a month.
Over being protected like a bank, and not flexible /happy.
Granted, I didn't let the RBK break-in. Maybe it would have been fantastic, but I wasn't willing to take a chance.

RX5. Not a big difference in feel, from the 4.8. Lightweight.
Prolly best suited for hard roller pucks. Maybe some ice.
But not travel ice at high levels.
These itechs are so comfy and light. Especially compared to the RBK which was light, but not comfy in any way.

RX5. gives me 5 arm straps plus a velcro wrist strap.
GREAT GREAT GREAT torso straps, velcro. EASY to reach back and pull forward!!! Love these!
Arms, everything feels fantastic out of the box.
The spot which gave me stingers before, will still be a problem, see green oval below.

The RX5 gives me a slightly bigger shoulder pad, which is what I wanted.
The rbk was way too much.
The RX5 seems to have the identically sized arm pad as the 4.8, but it's a nicer material.

Review the pics:
(I haven't set up the new c/a for size yet)
