so i kmow most of you dont care because well, if i were playing anywhere near as much as i want to, i would have kept with the big names too, but i cant really get out on the ice too often since i work 12 on 2 off so i went with a random ebay find for the Miklin P270 pads. i finally got out on the ice the other day for the first time in about a year (it's been -27 here for about a month and the only rinks i have to play in are outdoor) For never having used any "newer" style pads, they seemed pretty nice, they rotate pretty well although i'm still not used to actually having to rotate pads, so it's still not a reflex to just flip em out. the knee cradle hits perfectly on my knees (which i'm told is pretty lucky for random ebay goalie pad finds) and they're considerably lighter than the old vaughns i had borrowed from my friend. they do seem a little stiff, i'm not sure yet if thats the pads construction of if its just because they're still new. my only real issue with them is that they have plastic male to female buckles and i'm not used to having to wear pads so loosely. other than those two things theese pads were the best 200 dollars i ever spent. now i just have to let my hip stop hurting and i'll be back out there tomorrow and hopefully sunday. i doutbt if you do but if you have any questions about em just ask.

So I had to go google magic the Miklin name, because I had NO idea what you were talking about. I'm intrigued by their design...not in the sense that I'd like to buy a set, but simply because I like to know what all is out there...could you possible take some profile, back and front pics of the pads and through them up?

Dang, she caught me being retarded 2 times in the last day. That can't be healthy. Either way, I'm just not all that intrigued by them, I was just curious for other people's sake...if someone else comes along and wants to know about them you know?

i dont think they're anything even remotely close to brians... although i havent used a pair of brians leg pads since the airpac days... i think i need to tighten em up and play them like the old style pads. my hip still hurts after 6 days and i'm getting worried since i dont have health insurance... then again. screw it. might as well break a hip doing what i love.

lol, that reminds me of what I always tell everyone...I ride motorcycles, play hockey and fly. Everyone has this stupid look on their face when I tell them then they go into "What if you die!?" And I just smile and tell them, "There's 4 ways I'd prefer to die, in bed with a beautiful woman, flying, playing hockey or riding my motorcycle...in that order." haha

Anyways, I don't quite understand what you're saying about your Miklins...are they causing you problems or what?

no, not knowing how to play actual butterfly style (im a hybrid goalie) combined with not having been on the ice for a year is what is causing me problems. i got all over confident because i could flair the pads out a bit and over did it. nothing wrong with the pads themselves.
