I have both sets, 7.8s and 12.8s and to be honest its not worth the extra money to upgrade to the 12s. There is not much difference at all and a year after I got my 12.8s they are completely ripped down the sides! The leather is really cheap and this didnt happen with my 7.8s. Im not sure it could just be me but I didnt see much of a difference between the two sets...

I see a load of difference. But that's just me, mine aren't ripped anywhere either. I had a 7.8 catcher I recently upgraded to a 12.8 as well, and it's way better protected, and my hand doesn't come out like the 7.8 did. the straps always came loose.

The 7.8 blocker was alot closer to the shitty 4.8 blocker than I started with in protection and construction. The 12.8 blocker was far and beyond better built with more protection and superior materials. I love the hell out of my 12.8. Honestly have never tried the 12.8 pads, but am looking to try a set next week. They're like $800 on clearance right know.

Actually I had the 7.8's and I thought they were just ok and then I bought the 12.8's and honestly didn't feel much of a difference! The only thing is that the leather on my 12.8's ripped on the sides way easier so actually I kinda liked the 7s better Laughing
