Hey,
Quick help. Ive been searching the Internet EVERYWHERE for something on the Bauer XR4 Goalie Pads - Im interested in them but cant find anything about them. Can someone help me out with pictures or specs or any kind of information on the pads that will help my decision. Im in a real pickle here ... There is a picture in the link below of them:

Any help on comparison to RBK pads or Itech RX pads would be awesome too.
Thanks |

Gerber was wearing XR10's at the beginning of the season. Look where that got him .
I've heard lots of good things about the XR10's because of the customization of the foam blocks. Not anything about XR4's or XR8's though. _________________ http://www.youtube.com/user/JustVeejProductions

Funny you should mention that, as I JUST about 15 minutes ago got off the phone with a guy at Goalie Monkey. He told me this (since I'm coming off of V2 pros)
To step down to a mid level pad is ok, but you will notice the least amount of difference if you step down to the V3 7400's. (He ranked mid level pads for me based off of quality, and performance). He then said that the XR8's were very close behind, quite durable, and very soft and flexible. Then he mentioned something about the X:55's being somewhere along the same lines as the RBK 9k's, and not to get them, though the pro version of these pads were fantastic.
So his ranking went as follows:
1. V3 7400
2. Bauer XR8
3. Bauer X:55/RBK 9k
Even though Goalie Monkey calls the XR8's a "butterfly pad" this guy said that the pads really weren't all that rigid, and reacted more like a soft, flexible pad that was extremely comfortable, and the durability was very close to that of a pro level pad.
I have always bought Vaughn, but I am going to try the XR8's out in the store and who knows, may make a brand switch.
I hope this helps. _________________ 6'1" 185 lbs.
