Hi guys, new to this forum! Well, after spending two years rehabilitating my knees, I'm back in the nets! It has now been 10 years since I bought new pads, though. And I'm looking at all the sizing, and I'm seeing stuff like 34"+1, or 36"+2....whats this + in regards too? Thanks a lot in advance, Yancy

Hey

It just means that whatever the pad is (example 36+1) is that 1 inch is added to the 36 pad. So, it's a 37 inch tall pad, but the knee cradle (place where your need straps in) stays the same as It would be on a 36 pad. People usually get this if they have a large butterfly, but don’t want to sacrifice the kneed cradle being too high.

Very Happy Thanks alot, makes complete sense. Like I mentioned, I haven't gotten new equpment in 10 years, but every set I've had were Vaughns. Now, after much research, I'm set to order a complete set of Smiths tomorrow, they look phenomenal!

He will go over all + sizing with you for sure when you order.
Congrats!

^^ What they said.

But mods - is there any way we can sticky this topic, or one similar? There's probably about 10 different threads about it, and people either aren't bothering to look for it, or can't find it in the search.

I searched, and nothing came up. I apologize for starting another thread about an ongoing topic.

Figured this would be the best place to post it.

On a set of Vaughn Velocity pads I saw today at the store, it said 34" and underneath it said Plus 1 sizing... does that mean it's a 34+1"? Or they included the 1" into the 34"? (ie. 33 + 1)

It confused the hell out of me.

so basically ......if you have a 34 +1 vs a 35 they are both the same height but the 34 +1 has a knee cradle for someone that fits into a 34 inch pad?
