|
|
| I play indoor ball hockey and my pads don't slide very well along the floor. Does anybody have any ideas on what I could put on my pads to reduce the friction. I was thinking ski wax but I don't want to risk ruining my pads without considering all the options. |

Pretty much anytime you are playing hockey on anything but ice your pads are going to stick.
Some have taken to making slide plates for their calf/knee wraps, some have used pad covers, but the bottom line is there is more friction on sportcourt or wood or concrete or whatever flooring youre playing on than on ice.
Pads sticking is the nature of the game and something you adapt to. Work on more solid and forceful lateral pushes for slides, focus more on smaller adjustments than post to post moves, learn to shuffle quickly on your knees. _________________ you're only as good as your last save

Ive been a goaltender of ballhockey for a year now,and Ive bought pad covers from brians that are specially designed for it,and are of custom sizes.try that,it will help HIgh quality too.they go for about 150$cdn.
also,if you are on the cheap side, try buying hockey socks, cutting them in half and cutting holes trough for straps,I used that for awhile and it worked well, but it didnt protect as mush.
ANother thing you can do Is apply a THIN coat of armor-all on your flaps.
It will help protect the leather and youll slide a little better.
