orchid you have sick gear but i dont know about gold pads and yellow glove/blocker. Whats your teams colour?

Off Topic: here are some pads I am considering to order.

my team colours are green, gold and black, like the Dallas jerseys. I went with the yellow gloves as sort of a visual distraction type of thing to the other team.

my buddy started using the pro series this season, he says he loves them. i'm not sure if they are that different from the regular 7500s but theyre probably worth the extra $100 or so.

I've been trying all week to get my pics to show up on the board in my signature section. Still keeping getting the deleted or moved response from photobucket. Can anyone guess what I'm doing wrong? I have the pics on my photo album and when I copy and paste the img from there into the signature box here, I keep get the above reponse. Any ideas please?

Btw, excellent guide to the pic posting business.

You're putting the picture as a "jpeg" and not a "jpg", but these pictures are pretty huge. you might want to re-size them and reupload them.

I prefer puck marks on my pads, actually. It just gives them the nice look. Unless I bought them used, then I would clean those puck marks off and leave the ones I got.

Thats the same reason that I rarely retape my stick. I like the look of missing pieces on it a lot more than a freshly taped blade

I agree on the stick thing - except then it's a pain in the a$$ to get the old tape off once the bottom of the blade is worn down.

Yeah, I'd have to agree here. I probably retape every 2-3 times out on the ice. Sure it looks cooler to not have fresh tape, but it's not worth the hastle IMO.

Without further ado, here is a pic from my cell phone of my pads:

The new setup.

Vaughn V2 7000 35"
Vaughn 5500 Old Spec
Simmons 994 Blocker (ended up keeping it)

Not pictured:
Hackva Silver Tex Dbl Cat-Eye
Simmons 994 C/A
Heaton Helite 5 Pants
Good old Tacks skates

Now I just have to wait for doc clearance to go back.

I re-laced the glove with skate lace:
Before:

After:

Im still flirting with the idea of skate lacing the middle of the tri-web and also with making it a floating pocket. Have to see how loose it is when I get back to playing.

EDIT: While Im not technically cleared to play I got called to sub about 15 minutes after posting. Couldnt be happier with the pads or the glove. Catching pucks was simply instinctive in this even after taking more than a month off from surgery. The double break in the pads closes my 5-hole perfectly. Very satisfied . Laughing

Just curious Hawks - why the change from Simmons pads to Vaughn pads?

Mix of things from price, to availability, to size and colors on the market, to want, etc.

I got the V2s and the 5500 for the same price as I sold the 585s for.

Hey hawks, how hard was it to relace the trapper? I like my glove, but i feel like the pocket is to stiff and I keep getting pop outs- which I have never had happen before with any glove. As far as I can tell skate lace gives a softer feel to catching so i want to do it, but I want to know if I need someone to do it for me or i can do it.
