I have the same blocker and it looks bulky but really isn't too bad.
hey steelhmr, how's that glove workin? i'm considering gettin it to match my blocker... |
well, i have to be honest. not great at the moment. its going to take some time to completely break it in. it came "broken in", so its not hard to close, but its actually harder to keep it open. i love the feel of it though and i took a hard slapshot right off of the palm and didn't get a stinger (this is the main reason i knew it was time for a new glove). i know i bought the right glove, its just going to take some time before it shows me the proper respect
also, i meant to say those leg pads measure 11". i can take a picture for anyone who doesn't believe me. i just looked at and measured my equipment again. still not sure why they look so huge in those pics. _________________ Pads: TPS Xceed

Here's a couple shots in the basement of my house. No chance to get any on ice pics with the new gear yet.
Also, the pads haven't been bent yet and I hadn't adjusted the straps and adjustable thigh rise.

My dad isn't the best camera man in the world so bear with me. And he got some shots of me doing some awkward things.
6k Pads
5k blocker
7k catcher, Love em all. Except I changed handedness and am now using 580 koho catcer and blocker
And yes, that is an inert puck (: _________________ My information= 5'10"ft , 156lbs Style:Butterfly/stand up, Pads:Vaughn Vintage, Blocker:Vaughn Vision, Catcher:Vaughn Vision, Mask:Vaughn Cateye, Skates: Bauer Vapor XIV, Itech Pants , Itech Chest & Arm |

Nice stick Cman44
Sherwood7000's (canadian) are pretty much the best stick on the market.
What curve do you use?
I use the Lalime |

I actually broke one of my Sherwoods last practice
apparently it cracked through the paddle and I wasnt aware
so when I went to shoot the puck out of the zone on a dump-in drill, I snapped it completely in half.
Never fear, Players Bench is here! I bought a new one the same day.
good sticks.
will not stop using. |

Here's a set of pads I just got. They're Bauer Vapor XX. I got them off e-bay. The guy that had them wore them once for a game and discovered they were too big. Only 2 puck marks and no rips, tears, scrapes or anything. They fit me great, I love them..

They look almost like road hockey pads. I don't like the looks of the bottom... but then again I'm used to wearing my Rbk 7K and they've got the typical square bottom. _________________

in follow up of my post in the Simmons Owners Review ... post #4 http://www.goalieforum.com/goalie-equipment-reviews-f2/simmons-pad-owner-reviews-viewtopp.902-0-asc-15.html
Below are pictures of my pads.
The leg pads were purchased with 1-2 seasons use... plus my 7 years usage. The glove and blocker are both about 5 years old. The helmet is roughly 3. I played in the outdoor tournament NHL Breakout and taped some of the high traffic areas. I recently took it off and it left the residue which is slowly rubbing off, thats what I mean when I list something as 'tape marks'
Side note - if you want to know if a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser will keep your white pads white... the evidence is below.
Simmon Pro System 1 - Professional
Front
Side 1
Side 2
Toe 1
Toe 2
Back
Hole - I have another one on the other pad that is patched.
Gloves Front
Gloves Back
Glove
Blocker - Yes, I know it needs a new palm
