I'm a bit of a novice roller hockey goalie. I played street hockey for years when I was younger, but a bunch of friends and I have decided that an adult roller hockey league would be a nice way to get a little exercise and have a little fun.

I've used pretty cheap Franklin masks while playing street hockey, though I'm really feeling the need to upgrade to something a little more solid.

Here's what I'm working with now:

I don't really have a set budget, but cheaper is always better. I've narrowly missed out on a few 2nd hand ones on craigslist and ebay.

Any suggestions?

I would really suggest one of the cheaper, lower line Itechs. I think you should look at the Itech 1200 goalie mask.

Inline and ice require the same kind of protection when it comes to headgear and ChestArm units...

Look at Hackva, Sportmask, Eddy, etc etc.

inlinewarehouse.com seems to have some pretty decent deals on the Itech mask:

Thanks guys!

Personally I wouldnt wear an Itech unless it was a 960... ive heard nothing but good things of the NV7 family but I want full Kevlar layers in my mask. I wouldnt touch the 1200 line, thats me though.

I know this is an old topic, but I have some input. Take it or leave it. I went on craigslist and found an Itech 1400, Iron Man mask. It came with a Bauer neck guard. Was is good shape and I paid $120 for it. I was head hunted a few times, with some really hard slapshots. Didnt see some of them. Bounced off like it was nothing. I play inline hockey, but some of those shots were moving so fast, they hit really hard. The ref asked me if I was ok, and I just laughed and told them to bring the lumber.
