What level of play are you planning on using it for? I had the Profile 2500 with the cateye cage for a very short time, playing adult hockey A and B leagues and it was a disaster. The protection and quality were piss poor and I'm very glad to be out of it. The 1400 I believe is probably a step down from the 2500.
I coach a few kids that are at the squirt and peewee level with those helmets and I'm going to recommend they get something better as they move up.
Your head is too valuable a commodity to be cheap when it comes to protecting it.
My recommendation is a Hackva, but others might have other ideas. _________________

If you are playing with people that can raise the puck off the ice on a shot. I would not recommend the 1200, 1400, or 2500.
NV7, NME7, HACKVA, or better rated helmets. |

| NV7 or NME7 I definitely recommend. Stay away from the 1400. |

Was that sarcasm, or a typo?
And yeah, I'd say with a 17" ATK you could go 35 + 1 in most companies except for RBK. They run larger than the rest.
My ATK is 16.5 and I'm in 34 + 1 Vaughns. |

Don't you mean "is" then?
And yes - a 35" in most brands would fit you quite well. The extra 1" is for five hole coverage. If you decide to go RBK, I would suggest a 34". I was in 33"s and they were about a size too big on me, and my knees were constantly sliding off or missing the knee stacks altogether. |

Koho 700s are produced by Reebok. It's their purely hybrid pad designed with HockeyMonkey and Jonas Hiller. Essentially the same fundamentals as the Reebok hybrid pad whose name eludes me at this time of night, with slight modifications bringing it closer to the original Koho's...i.e. 500-560 series.
Since Lefevre designs Reeboks, it only makes sense the Koho name has reemerged while under the Reebok line. |

| Your style of play should dictate which type of pad you wear. |

I'll add my 2 cents worth on the 1400 issue. I've heard a lot of guys refer to the 1200 and 1400 both as "The Widow Maker" There must be a reason it has that rep. How it ever ogt certified I have no idea. I use a Pro-Masque. Love it. _________________ How would you like a job where everytime you make a mistake, a red light goes on and 20,000 people boo? |
