Chris Osgood has won 2 cups in white pads. Marc Andre Fleury, Gigeure, Cam Ward, and even Patrick Roy in Colorado had mostly white pads. And yes, the whole point of the 540s/560s that he wore before the 570s in the picture there were designed to create a "phantom 5-hole" but to me it still seems like those aren't all white pads, and there are plenty of goalies that don't wear all or mostly white pads that do just fine. Mostly white. Giggy with coloured pads. Mostly white, but still more colour than Brodeur. Khabibulin, coloured pads. Eddy with nearly all black pads. Every new season someone has to bring up the topic of primarily white or primarily dark pads. The bottom line is, it's the shooter and the talent level of the shooter that determines whether a different color pad makes a difference. It's not going to affect a NHL player. It may affect a house league player. It's not the color that matters but the brand name on the pads.
