I am getting pads soon and I cant decide between white with orange/black graphics or black with just orange graphics. I had Orange RBKs before. I dont know what to do. I like the Black pads alot better but if white will help my game even the tiniest bit I will get them. _________________ There are no stupid questions, just stupid people. |

White tends to make you look bigger on the rink, makes it harder for the shooter to pick the net with just a quick look and the puck will stand out more in scrambles. Will get dirtier quicker though.
Black pads are opposite usually and you can lose the puck in them. I'm not sure if that is a good thing or a bad thing _________________ A goalie must have one overriding quality, he must want to be a goalie |

No. It's all in your head.
From a forward's standpoint, I don't care about pad color or patterns. All white, all black, dark colors, bright colors... it doesn't make me hesitate. I'm going to get the shot I want to get. I am trying to not aim where the goalie is, but sometimes, I aim for a direct shot to allow for a possible rebound or possible deflection off a defenseman or whatever. |

| I find there's been a good deal of goals scored against me in all black, black/white, all white and yellow pads...so I'm going to go with no here. |

Players will shoot at darker colors because thier eye is drawn to them naturally.
I would get one all Orange pad, one black, one orange glove one black _________________

| I've always liked White pads with some kind of accent color, but they get marked up far to fast so I usually end up getting some other mix of colors. |

| Shooters don't seem to get cought up looking at how beautifully coordinated my pads/gear is. I say buy the best pad for you that you can afford. If it happens to be a color that you like, great. |

marked up is a sign of lots of stops. |

This is probably a dumb exercise in the truth, but can anyone create a a chart of NHL goalies and their leg pad colours? Also, put down their save percentage in the current season. Then in another chart, put down their pad colour from the 2008-2009 season with their save percentage in the regular season. For the goalies that played in the playoffs, put down their playoff save percentage in another column.
Also, create a Stanley Cup chart, showing who the winning goalie was and what colour his pads were starting at 1986 to the present.
Also, create a lowest goals against average (regular season only) chart with the name of the goalie for each year and what colour his pads were.
My belief is that there are so many other factors that affect the goalie's save percentage that pad colour wouldn't change that's person's performance. |
