Hi all, I'm thinking of using some waterslide decals on my mask to spruce it up some. I can't afford a $400+ paint job right now so I figured this would do in the mean time. I know the decals will get tore all to hell with normal play. I was thinking about putting some clear coat over them to protect them. Does anyone know what kind of clear coat mask painters normally use? Is there any type that I should NOT use? I know some paints will wreck a mask, don't want to take a chance with it. Suggestions? Comments? Ideas?

If you know someone in the body shop business, ask him or her to "shoot it with emron". Great finish in that the mask will gleam - catches lighting glints really cool - and protect your decals. Failing that, just about any clear coat from Rust-o-leum will work. Do not use anything that says shellack on the can. The first two are what we used back in the prehistoric days. Someone more current can probably offer you a more up to date suggestion. While we're at it, call your mask manufacturer. They could probably tell you best because they painted it.
