Tim Thomas,

You love him or u hate him.....

I dunno where I am, I hate the style, but u gotta admit he gets the job done.....

He contributes his flexibility to yoga (makes since)....I am currently workin' on that....

Have you guys done any?

And how did it work for you?

I am a big yoga advocate. I recommend the rodney Yee
http://www.gaiam.com/category/yoga-studio/yoga-instructors/rodney-yee.do?gcid=S18376x028&keyword=rodney%20yoga

for basic flexibility I was able to get a full split in 6 weeks with some 10 splits focused stretching, after yoga work outs. yoga is more than flexibility, its also great for conditioning, try his yoga for abs and yoga burn.

I'm planning on trying to start. I'm thinking early morning, before heading off to school.

I am biased by his am and pm yoga sessions are killer. Simple to learn and great ways of getting centered for your day and unwinding each evening.

So long as I know it'll get me able to do the splits regularly and safely (relatively) I'll spend 2 hours a DAY doing something.

That being said, does yoga really do that, or is it better to just stretch for 2 hours? And by stretch I mean static stretching like you'd do at football or a hockey game?

Yoga is stretching, but also core strength. It is way better than just stretching alone.

Let me ask you this: do you want to stretch BEFORE doing yoga, or is stretching included, so you can start yoga completely stiff?

if you do yoga right after you wake up, your body is completly relaxed and yes, if you do yoga later in the day, just stat slowly, what you will find is that you maintain a higher level of flexibility all the time, and that you also breath better and your posture is improved.

So how long would you recommend doing yoga each? As in, 1 hour AM and 1 hour PM?

And could you recommend a good program that would fit a university student's schedule? Very Happy
