I've been thinking about trying this workout routine. The exercises look amazing for core strength, cardio, stretching. Has anyone heard of it, or tried it?

MAKING OF P90X VIDEO
P90X is a breakthrough system designed for both men and women. Get absolutely ripped, or get lean long muscles based on the number of reps and resistance you choose for each routine. The system is flexible allowing you to progress through the 90 Days at your own pace, but be prepared to work hard! With 12 extreme, heavy-hitting, muscle-pumping, sweat-pounding workouts, P90X is the most comprehensive home workout system available on the market today. From intense weight training and advanced Plyometrics to Core Synergistics and Extreme Yoga, get ready to get results!
Why is P90X so effective?
The Answer: Muscle Confusion.
The P90X Workout uses the training science of Muscle Confusion. Over the course of 90 days as your body changes, so do the workouts. By constantly introducing new moves and routines every stage of P90X becomes as effective as the first.
Results form traditional workout programs diminish over time. The more the body adapts to a routine the less effective it becomes, a phenomenon known as the "Plateau Effect". By alternating many different movements the P90X Workouts avoid this pitfall and challenge your muscles to continue to grow.

It will have you eating healthy and taking the guess work out of what to eat and when. Not sure what carbs or fats are good for you? Or what snacks, dairy products and even what condiments you should be eating? No problem! The P90X Nutrition Guide not only offers a list of recommended foods, but also daily meals and recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. AND, if you think you’re going to be starving yourself, think again! When first starting the program you may even have a hard time eating everything on your plate!
It’s all about eating the right foods and eating enough food so you have the energy your body needs for the P90X workouts. Following the P90X Nutrition Guide is just as important to your success with the program as the daily workouts themselves.

| Why does it seem to me that "muscle confusion" would be a bad thing? Does that mean in the future after this P90X training every time I try to wave at someone I'll randomly punch myself in the scrotum? |

Google search P90X. I have a friend who started doing this work-out regime, and he says it's amazing. He's 26, in decent shape, and can barely keep up at best. He thinks the plyometrics (jump) training could really benefit a goaltender, and after watching that part I believe he is right. It's pretty much a seven day a week training program, with each day being different. It carries on for 90 days minimum.
I'm considering trying this, but I'm also 39 years old. I certainly could use to drop some weight. I'm 5'9/205lbs. LOL! I can still do 8 chin-ups! LOL!

Well I'm 23...well...almost 24. And I'm not in peak physical condition but I have no problem recovering from a butterfly and can go pretty hard for at least an hour and a half which is obviously well over a usual game time. The only thing I'd like to work on is being a little thinner because I'm 6'1" and 200-205lbs, but I don't think it's necessary to get my game to another level. Unless of course I had a chance to go pro, which I'm pretty sure R2MN could confirm...I have no chance in hell of doing that. |

I've done some of the workout portions... I'm in no good shape, but it's a good system because it also works at your speed... if you can only do 3 push ups, then you do your 3, and try to improve next time...
I didn't go through it properly though. and there's no way i'm going to adhere to any type of restrictive diet or suppliment regimen.
I took a break from it since my free time is very limited, but will likely go back to it once I settle into my new condo.
But seriously, it's an amazing workout. _________________ random spelling mistakes added on purpose to annoy those that are annoyed by it. |

I didn't post this to justify a comeback, LOL! I'm almost 40, I'm definetly on the decline, and that's fine. That's the way life is supposed to be. It would just be nice to follow a coordinated routine rather than what I seem to struggle to follow. At the very least I would be 40 in decent shape, LOL! This year was the first year that I struggled with nagging injuries all season long.(hips, back, groin)
They weren't severe, just nagging, which tells me I have to be in better shape or stop playing, which I'm too stubborn to do yet!

Hey guys,
P90X
Is awesome.
totally life changing.
It has to become a lifestyle with you because of the diet and strict workout plans, but well worth it.
It includes stuff like polymetrics, yoga and kempo, this stuff increases flexibility like crazy.
This program is very intense and painful (in a good way i guess)....
totally worth tryin'
