| I just ordered one of these, becasuse i noticed that my reflexes seem kinda slow, anyone ever use/heard of these thingys? |

| My sister has one, we love it. I stand about 5 feet away from her, drop the ball and she needs to race forward and grab it on the first bounce. Other times she'll just bounce it off the wall and try to react fast. |

| Most definitely. I used it a couple of times and I thought I saw a slight difference, although that could've been my imagination. My sister's reflexes have definitely improved since she uses it before every game, and throughout the summer. |

The Reflex Ball is a soft, light, rubber ball that is attached to a strong bungie cord at one end and at the other end there is a wrist strap for the user to wear around the hand.
Reflex Balls are very well made products that are popular with kids and adults and sells in high volume wherever it is shown and demonstrated. The Reflex Ball comes in 3 different sports styles--baseballs, basketballs, and soccer balls--and in 3 bright colors, for a total of 6 different styles, overall.When the ball is thrown out to the ground about 8 feet or so, it rebounds back to the hand. The strength of the person determines the speed of the ball, but even then the speed is totally adjustable by throwing it harder or softer. You can also vary the speed of the ball by throwing it lass far. Your skills using this device will gradually improve with the more you use it.These variable give you total control of the ball at all times. Still, this is an outdoor tool - not to be used in doors. You should use a hard surface like concrete to get the best results from the aid. The ball doesn't bounce well on carpet or grass or other soft surfaces.

I know this is an old thread, but no point in starting a new one. I'm three seasons into playing goalie for a roller hockey team, and never having played baseball or anything, I had a slow glove. I bought a reflex ball and started working a half hour or so a day with it and noticed an immediate improvement on my glove side. For drills, I would mostly just stand about 2 feet from the corner of a wall (to keep from having to chase the ball all the time) and get into a lower stance, then just drop the ball from chest height and grab it off the bounce. I would also throw on leg pads (or just some old knee pads if I didn't want to strap all the way up) and drop into a butterfly when the ball would bounce into me (great for working on snagging those pucks that float just above the pads). There are a ton of variations you can do. I definitely recommend it for new goalies, especially those without any background playing ball sports.
I wouldn't recommend throwing this thing as hard as you can at anything. A little arm goes a long way with these things. I use mine indoors, on the tile by my front door. No worries as long as you don't mind the thud of it hitting the door/wall. Dropping from chest high is plenty of rebound to let you track and react to the ball. |
