Don't want it to seem like spam but just FYI:
http://www.superglideskating.com/HockeyPlayers.aspx

Disclaimer: I have no affiliation with this company except for a sudden interest in their product and an insatiable craving for a home 'ice' room.

Yeah I like it as well. Definitely an idea that I've put away for sometime when I'm more settled. It's really great for goalies 'cause we don't need too large of a space for most of our workout drills. The goalie school here has a 15'x15' patch that I'm assuming is synthetic ice as opposed to the real deal (haven't been yet Sad) and they've got it surrounded by a less-expensive yet highly frictionless surface (plexy? Confused ) and it seems to work great.

Add a puck launcher machine (gotta research a DIY cost-effective version) and you're all set.

However, I'm wondering what effect this material might have on speeding the wear and tear on pads. Nothing in the FAQ about it.

I'm gonna be talking to my parents about getting it. Very Happy

Not for me, but mainly for my sister. She's got the potential to play AA girls hockey, and in the long run get a hockey scholarship. Mind you, that's about 6 years away, but if she keeps developing at the rate she is now... wow Shocked And this will really help her Very Happy... and when she's not home, I'll fool around on it Wink

They are running a special promotion for the goalie system the first 10 units sold will be sold for a special price of 499, after those units are sold or presold they are working out shipping details with UPS right now the regular price will be 699.
The 6 x 12 system is 499 as well all the time.
the sytems add no extra wear to pads as the surface is smother than ice and when maintained properly as slipery as a fresh crease, it has no abrasive quality beyond ice.
FS if you truely want one you need to call them monday because they will likely have them all sold to goalie schools and teams as they have many inquires on multiple units.

again I called and spoke with them to get the information
the number is
305-2182966
