Hey guys, I tried searching for some answers to avoid a re-post, got a lot of error pages and didn't necessarily find what I was looking for.. so here it goes. (Sorry if this is the wrong section).

Little bit about me:
I'm a senior now, in high school, looking to go out for the ice hockey team again this November. I started playing goal my freshman year 'for fun' since I had friends on the team and my brother's gear from when he quit. I played JV that year, then soph/junior year there wasn't a JV team so I didn't get any real practice, other than maybe 10-15 sessions between those two years on the ice in full gear. For those two years I played a lot of pond hockey (not as a goalie/in goalie gear), so my overall skating and comfortability on the ice has improved tremendously. However, skating in gear is not as nice (I'm comfortable and agile, but I can't skate circles as well or anywhere near as fast as the other goalie(s)/ as I can w/out pads. With this being said, I was hoping you experienced goalies here at goalieforum.com could help me out on some off-ice drills to improve some of the goalie 101's (powersliding, angles, technique anything and everything you think could help!). I won't have access to ice-time until captain's practices in early November, so I have until then to do whatever I possible can off-ice to prepare (not conditioning, I'm in shape and pretty athletic, just new to ice hockey for the most part).

For the record, my gear is in fine condition, I don't have a problem with anything but my technique, on-ice movement, and some simple things that play into it that I can work on myself.

So, on that note - what off-ice drills would help me out the most?

Also, how should I get my goalie-skates sharpened? Only had them sharpened when I bought them, and they weren't sharp enough to get an edge and power slide with, so they REALLY need it now...

If I missed anything i'll add it later, I think that sums it up in a mouthful for the most part.. lol

Any and all information is very welcome, thanks!
