| Anyone know of any supplements that can aid muscle elasticity? I'm a 40 something goalie, working hard on flexibility, making gains, but wanna make the most of my routine. |

Go to your next Martial Art club ...best if they teach Taekwon Do.....I came from that sort of sport and it´s the best for concentration...reflexes and flexibility....no other can do like this!
Regards

your going to want do YOGA deep stretching and breathing. this will help you make marked gains in flexibility and reduce your chances of potential injury. As a 38 year old i know some of what your dealing with, it gets harder with age. so you should couple this to strength training, low weight and high reps 20-30 @ 3-5 sets 45 sec down time between sets.
next step is mussel memory. you will need to train your mussels to stretch and react as if your playing the game. Teh yoga itself is not enough. go down and widen that butterfly...treat it like an additional yoga move breath, stretch it, hold...release...and again...it took me about 8-9 months but I am back to a full splits where as 22 years ago, it took me 6 weeks to get it.
as far as supplements go vitamin E, B and amino acids and a mens one a day is plenty. |

come on , in our age we never go back to the 22st years ago split....It hurds in the back in the knees in everywere....... but you are right with Yoga...all Asian things for bodymovement is a lot of help for us .

I have used the splits now many times and over again making saves on Break aways and for adding some pizazz to some glove saves...it fired the team up.
work for it, the splitz will also help you when down in bfly and stretching out that leg to block a puck.
I also think the other old goalie find it intimidating! in warm ups. |
