I have no idea what you are talking about, people say I look small off ice and huge on ice.

its an optical illusion. FAT or wide no matter how tall looks short, and narrow or skinny will look taller.

First off, you’re not taller off-ice, that’s stupid. No offense to your intelligence.

Goalie skates are shorter that player skates (like Cman said) He’s just the same height as you because your taller off-ice and he has taller skates than you.

I may be wrong but my theory on this has been as follows...

... in your head picture the side profile of a goaltender and of a player.

The player for the most part is not affected by his equipment and as mentioned above his skates give more height than a netminders skates.

The goaltender however has a couple of breaks to his posture due to equipment. Because of the pad and boot the ankle is angled slightly forward. To compensate for the ankle and in conjunction with the break of the pad the knee is then angled back. Depending on the players posture and the need to compensate for the knee and ankle breaks the goalie may again be slightly angled forward at the waist.

They are all small angles, but when extended the length of the body they can add up. Again, there is the fact that the goalies skates are shorter than player skates.

Look at the below images. While the image on the left is a little over stated because he is in his stance the red line still shows the general ankle break I am referring to. The image on the right shows the knee to hip and hip to shoulder break I was referring to as well.
