Hey guys I've had a hard time with high glove saves, and I saw this online.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63D1ZLQv-VI

It makes sense to me and so i gave it a try for a week in practice and found that glove saves seemed alot more natural, especially for up high shots. Then this new goalie coach came in...he's never been a coach before but his team got 2nd at state in Minnesota in his senior year, which was 2001....for some reason our head coach has a ton of respect for the guy, but he hasn't really taught me anything new. he hates this fingers up thing and constantly calls it stupid and says i should do it the old way. the same thing has happened with nearly everything else i do. he calls all the new techniques stupid and doesn't even consider them, he aint crazy bout bfly slides, he hates the VH position against the post, and several other stuff....how do i handle this guy? for now i'm jus doin whatever he says but I've tried arguin with him a few times recently and he jus calls it stupid, he doesn't even have a reason why....

I say the guy says its stupid and stuff because "everything he does is perfect, and the only way to do it." Kind of like Vladislav Tretiak Rolling Eyes

Has this guy ever been a goalie before? If he has, he should realize that it's not all about how you do your job, it's that you do your job....which, of course, is stopping pucks. Do what works for you and prove it to him through your stats.

I went to Vladislavs camp for a couple years, a couple years ago. I stopped because he taught everything standup style, and all these old school moves. He even tought us how to stack our pads Laughing . Just do what you usually do and tell him to shove it up his... you get the picture Rolling Eyes

he never played in college tho....

well as i said he has alot of influence on the head coach so i don't want to just blow off everythin he says....I'm trying to beat out a senior right now, so if i'm constantly arguin then that proly won't make a good impression....our first preseason games are next weekend tho, and i know i'll be playin at least one of em so we'll see how it goes.

We started practice on monday, and games start the 21st. I think itll be really really fun to see how we do compared to the minnesota teams. Should be a good season. Are you Varsity?
