Hi I am new to this forum and this will be my first post . I am 15 years old and my brother is 10 and playing in Atom AAA . I was wondering , is there any specific drills that are good for speed ? , like getting up and down , or moving side to side . I would apprieciete your help . _________________ MattMaclean |

There's not realy any specific goalie drills for it, it's mostly just practice, practice, practice! Do something enough, and eventually you can do it faster. For up & downs, work on anything that has to do with leg strengthening. For side to side, practice it.
Any goalie technique can basically be improved by repeating it over and over. PRactice makes perfect.
If you want some leg strengthening - go to a school, or an arena nearby that has LOTS of stairs... run up and down a few times, it kills and will improve your leg muscles a lot. _________________

Leg presses are a goalies best friend. But for a 10 year old, Squats and lunges. Anerobics(sp) (not aerobics(sp) are really good. Their short bursts of intense muscle training I.e. Like 10 leg presses stop, take a breather ten again. _________________
