9 of their forwards without Moen are 200lbs or over. 7 of them are over 6'. They're problem in recent years is small forwards that get too beat up because they're too small. They needed power forwards with size and toughness....that could score. Moen is not one of those. 7 goals, 9 assists and -18 in 82 games isn't what they need. I don't mind the size, but at least get someone that can score. If Moen is replacing Kostopoulos then it's a downgrade. Kostopoulos put up more points and was -1 in 78 games and at 201 pounds, 6' 1"s wasn't exactly someone you could push around.

Kovalev to the Sens is a good thing. This is a guy that came out one game and played great then would coast for the next four. The only time he really seemed to step it up over the past couple years was when Koivu was injured and they put the "C" on his jersey. Not the best thing to do when you're a 36 year old who is fast approaching the end of your career. The Sens now have the headache of trying to get him to play every game and we don't have to worry about which player is going to show up each night. Besides that, we've replaced all the players we've lost with guys that put up more points, so losing Kovalev isn't a big deal.

In other news, the Habs have signed Swedish forward Andreas Engqvist to a three year contract. 21 years old, 6'3", 196 lb, plays center. He had 16 points in 31 games with Djurgardens IF of the Swedish Elite League before a wrist injury put him out for the remainder of the season.
I've watched some youtube videos on this guy and he looks to be a pretty good pickup. Go Habs Go!!!!

Although it is not very noticeable, some of you may have noticed the website in The_Goalie_94's signature line. I would strongly recommend any Habs fans to go to the site and register. It doesn't have very many members yet, but, I think it will be a great site if given the chance.

Here's the link if anyone wants to join.

Canadiens sign Goaltender Curtis Sanford to a 1 year 2 way contract. Finacial terms were not disclosed.

Over the past two seasons, Sanford posted an 11-11-1 record with a 2.69 goals-against average, one shutout and a .903 save percentage in 35 regular-season games with the Vancouver Canucks. The 5-10, 187-pound goalie also played 16 regular-season games with the AHL’s Manitoba Moose in 2008-09 and was credited with a 7-3-3 record, a 1.73 goals-against average, two shutouts and a .936 save percentage.

I hope that Price has a better season than last, and that the defense support him much more as before.
So next is the Cup....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dirk

Sanford is a good little goalie, his only problem is he's a good little goalie.

The game is too fast for not making it up with long limbs now.

It's about position, speed across the crease, and fast limbs that will make up for long limbs.
There are a lot of under 6' goalies in the NHL.

Yes, and he's not fast enough for a little guy. Hence why he has been dropped by many teams after short stints. I enjoyed him as a Canuck, GREAT GUY, not the best goalie.

Lol Laughing . I can say that i've only had one drink in my entire life (full drink, mind you). It was a Green Apple Swirl, and I started to get really happy. I'm a total lightweight.

Anyway, keeping it on topic, Price has been doing good. Top 4 in save percentage, although the overtime winner was really lucky against Buffalo.
