So I'm completely clueless now. 6 years ago I knew what cut, what hollow, how often everything...now, I can't seem to remember anything. I guess that happens when you spend 4 years learning electronics theory and repair...not to mention lots of other things.
What I'd like to know is what do the cuts mean? If someone who KNOWS can post about it or find a link (Not from a BB preferably) I'd be greatly appreciate so I can study up and know next time I get my blades sharpened. |

No problem arth now the question is going to be, what hollow you're going to pick? _________________ Itech X-Wing Pro C/A

I got the 3/4 yesterday and after about 5 minutes of skating on it I loved it...it allows me to get extremely low in my stance and I had no problem pushing laterally in the butterfly because it had a great edge on it. Recovery was much easier too...
From what I was reading bigger players usually go with a smaller hollow but I think it'd probably be inverse for goalies...we need that extra bit of edge to lift our fat ***es off the ground. I got a lot of weight to push around. |

This site is a tad bit better. Of course, I'm a little biased. I whipped up some of the images for the guy that runs this shop.
If you have a replaceable runner (RBK, CCM cowling) you can send your steel to him to get sharpened.
Of course, you can send your skates to him as well...

Check out information on the side:
Skate Radius & Profiling Info
Combination Radius Info
PS. Weight factors in to what size sharpening you get...bigger guys can dig into the ice more so they get shallower cuts. Smaller guys need to get deeper cuts to get the same bite. |
