Nope, just gotta hate guys that go wherever they think is good for a year and refuse to resign because they got beat by their former team. |

Hossa's only got a 100 pts. once, I believe. Datsyuk who is infinitely better has put two 97 point seasons in a row is worth every penny. Sure Hossa got 40 goals, but who was his linemate, yeah that's right Datsyuk. Hossa also had Crosby and Malkin when he played for the Penguins, and Kovalchuk when he played for Atlanta, and Alfreddsson when he played for Ottawa.
Hossa's only as good as his team is, and he's bad luck so why would you want him on your team?

Signing anyone to a 12 year deal is absolutely stupid. Doesn't matter who it is. But you can't argue he is a great player. He didn't resign in Detroit because they couldn't fit him in under the cap.
And who cares if he played on a line with Datsyuk or Crosby. He puts up numbers. He will be in the lineup with Toews, Kane, Versteeg, etc. and will score 40 goals and 85-100 pts again this season. Great player, dumb contract |

BRILLIANT contract, who cares about the player. Toews, Kane, Samuelsson, and 90% of the draft picks this year are just a few of the players with 10-12 year deals.
The brilliance of it is this. They pay huge numbers but it averages out to be less so the player is happy and the team can get more big names and still stay under cap.
Remember, contracts don't mean guarantee...unless he has a NTC in his contract, he can still be traded away. |
