Okay, it's finally the Stanley Cup Finals. Post your predictions here.
Personally, I'm going with Pittsburgh in 6.

I hate both... so I'm just turning the other way until next season starts up.

Shit I hate both of them but out of pure love for the sport alone and the fact that they're playing for the biggest achievement in hockey...period...I'm watching. I've found reasons to watch. I want to see how Osgood handles Crosby. How Fleury handles Cleary, Hossa, Holmstrom. And so on. I hope Pitt in 4, but I think it'll be Detroit in 7.

Wow, this series has just turned these whole playoffs into an EPIC FAILURE. It was bad enough watching these clowns "duke it out" last year, and now we have to watch Detroit win again this year? This is brutal.

Pittsburgh in 6. You won't have to worry about watching Detroit win another one this year. Laughing

They're 4-0 in the last 4 trips to the Stanley Cup Finals...hopefully they go 4-1 this year...I'm so sick of seeing those annoying a$$ red jerseys in the playoffs...specially when they skate around with the cup. Go away...yeah...you won the cup...again. Showoffs.

That was a pretty good game to start the series. Both teams played very well. Detroit got the lucky bounce for the first goal....those end boards are pretty lively. Laughing I feel bad for Fleury on that one. The Wings were the better team in the third period and sealed the win with a couple more goals.
Second game today. It will be interesting to see if fatigue plays a role in this game with such a short time between games.

I'm hoping Detroit is just flat footed today and can't get going while Pitt's nice little rest gave them enough time to play a back to back set. I want to see the Pens route the Wings 5-1.

LOL

Penguins are a bird, but their wings can't make them fly.

Detriot in 6. But I would love Pitts to win though.

Well It would seem to be that that the PEns may well have the best 2 skill players in the series, but they still just do not match up with overal Depth of the wings. I heard mention that some would like to see Crosby and Malikin double shift to get mismatches. That will not work because the wings are to deep and know how to shut the pens down, and score goals in the process.
The only way I see the pens really winning one of these games is to take advanage of thier first period. They out played the wings in most say 15 min of the first periods both nights. The pens need to score 3 in the first, then find one more some where along the way.
To matters worse I just dont see Ozz giving up 4 in a game. YES he has had some good bounces

Lucky bounces for Detroit....3 posts for Pittsburgh.

Other lucky area of the game for Detroit....Two blind refs.
Detroits second goal shouldn't have counted because of the slash that took place a few seconds before.
Other then that, I noticed other missed calls that were pretty flagrant. The slash with the heel of the stick to Crosby's knee was just one of these. Intent to injure if you ask me. Why else would you take aim directly at one of the most vulnerable areas of a hockey players body?
I'm watching both of those instances and thinking "what the hell". I mean, how could the ref possibly miss those two. There were other instances, but I won't get into them.

I'm not saying Pittsburgh would have won if the refs had eyes in their heads either. Detroit seems to find a way to win regardless. Confused It would be nice to see a good clean game played though with none of this dirty shit from either side of the ice and with a couple refs that don't need white canes. Laughing

Both of the games so far have been really good though. A couple good/bad bounces either way could have completely changed the outcome. Here's to Pittsburgh winning the next two at home.(fingers crossed)

It'd be nice to see a game without....Detroit.

I'm so fed up with them...yeah, we get it...you're a great team. GO AWAY!

What about that missed penalty shot when Hank covered the puck for Ozzy? Great job stripes! By the way, check your cell phone...you've missed a few calls.

Just pathetic. So, factor in two teams who I don't really care about...I just happen to care for one far less than the other. Refs who don't know wtf they're doing. And worst of all, fans who just blindly proclaim "THERE WAS NOTHING ILLEGAL ABOUT THAT!" sigh...maybe next year...How about Habs/Avs for the finals?
