I know my team lost, and I know Fleury stole the last two games, but honestly that's the best i've seen him play all playoffs where Osgood has usually been money in the bank for playoffs.

Who knows, maybe Hasek will express his desire to play in the NHL again, seeing his former team lose.

Congrats to the Pens. They deserve the cup. Their role players came up huge. Staal, Talbot, etc. The Pens seemed hungrier and had more jump in the last 2 games. And its not because the Wings are old, I think after last year coming so close, they wanted it more. That being said, I am not jumping off the Red Wings ship. They lost to an outstanding team. Fleury stepped up when it counted. Maybe Malkin was the Conn Smythe winner, but he sure didnt do much this series. And to all the one that said all Detroit fans would take Fleury over Osgood? Of course. Ozzie is 36 and Fleury is whta 24. Who wouldnt. Lets look in another 10 years where Fleury's stats are. Will he have 4 cups? almost 400 wins? Im not knocking Fleury at all (actually he is one of my favs), but don't take anything away from Ozzie.

Well, Detroit lost. Pittsburgh won. It's a team effort, not a one-man show. Osgood got burned twice in the second period and they didn't score enough goals. Better luck next year.

I'm not sure if your getting my drift here. I KNOW PITTSBURGH WON! They won, they won, they won, they won. All I'm saying that in the playoffs Osgood was way more spectacular than Fleury was, especially considering his abysmal year and the way he rebounded.

Also I have no doubt in my mind, that if Detroit HAD won(I know they didn't!) than Osgood would have secured that trophy no problem.

Laughing

I'm glad to see Fleury, Malkin and Staal win and hoist the cup. I'm pissed that Crosby's ugly effed up face will be plastered all over EVERYWHERE with the cup in his hands.

Nice save by Fleury at the end. I threw my bottle across the room when he stopped it (thankfully it was plastic). Exciting game nonetheless.

Veej - Fleury > Osgood. Definitely not in the 5-0 game, but how can you say Osgood was spectacular? I guess it depends on your definition... I consider spectacular to be desperation saves (uhhh... think Fleury's skate save against Philly I believe)... Osgood is... blah.

And I'll slit my throat if Hasek tries to come back... AGAIN.

Being that I live in Pittsburgh I am very happy to see the cup come back home. My question is why does everyone not from Pittsburgh hate Crosby so much? Being that he is an AMAZING hockey player and we all love hockey. Same goes for Ovechkin. I know a tun of people that would kill me for getting an Ovechkin jersey, but he to is an AMAZING hockey player and well I just love hockey.

I'm happy Pitt won...for two reasons. A) I didn't have to watch those ugly a$$ red and white jerseys lift the cup AGAIN and B) Well I can't explain B yet, but there's a reason.

Laughing I've hated Crosby ever since he joined. We argued about this is the Pittsburgh/Washington thread, I'm not retyping my reasons. I never say he's a bad player, because obviously he's extremely talented... I just don't like him.

He's a young Gretzky...both in his talent and his ability to dive/whine like no other.

Get over it Arth. I believe we've already wasted two or more pages of this thread arguing about that. Rolling Eyes

Out of all the people talking about it you picked me? I kept it short in the hopes that everyone else would shut up about it. We know, he whines. We know, he's good. Drop it already, Gretzky was the same way when he first came out and I've watched video of it. Crosby will mature, and he'll get better...no reason to roll your eyes at me man.
