|
|
hey everyone! I am starting my personal project (a 10 month long project). My project is going to be comparing old hockey equipment (from when hockey started), to hockey equipment that we have now. I want to compare the equipment throughout the years. I will be putting this info in a scrapbook and I want to try to find the # of players who got injured during the starts of the NHL and the # of injuries now. (and hopefully what those injuries were).
If anyone has any info on the equipment from a while back and the # of injuries, etc. it would be greatly appreciated if you could tell me about it It would also help if you knew of websites I could look at!
Thanks in advance everyone! _________________

look for the book "This is Hockey" from the 1970's.
As far as injuries to goalies go, by about 88 they were seriously reduced, esp when the masks changed. I took two shots to the eye with mine both resulting in many stiches.
What you will find is that at the moment players began to curve sticks, goalie injuries went up. Why? the puck was being shot higher and faster.
I actually think there are several goal tending books that cover this. _________________
