Anybody see the footage from Tortorella's suspension? I think it's hilarious how the fan doused him with a drink Laughing

Just sucks how he got suspended for it.

Personally I think it's a publicity bulls**t move made by the league. What probably happened is that water bottle grazed the woman sitting behind the guy screwing with Torts and she threatened something against the league so they suspended Torts...too much politics. Looks like Avery (so far) is playing a clean hard-charging game which the Rangers are going to need to finish the Caps.

Avery has to push the envelope more than he did today if he's going to be effective in game 7. Torts will have a sit down with him.

Lundqvist is going to have to be better though. 2 goals short side on the high glove? That's just crap. Game 7 will be good.

appreciated.

Tortorella has a bit of a problem. He wants guys to play disciplined hockey, no circus crap... but i think the only way they're going to beat Washington in the next game is exactly that. Roll 10 minutes of nothing but hard checking, get Washington a little over emotional, get some big scrums and a fight to get his team really geared up. Maybe they can get Ovechkin trying to stay on the ice too long and wearing himself out. You know the perfect player for that... as much as I hate him... yeah... Avery

Hitting hard is different from gooning it up like Avery did in 3&4. They need to get physical, emotional and play hard. The last two games they've been coasting, making sloppy passes, missing open nets (Zherdev needs to get benched IMO) and letting in poor quality shots. They need to get into it and hit the ice hard...specially at the Verizon Center or the fans will eat them alive (See game 5). That's the Rangers only hope of getting through round 1.

It was an elbow but yeah, I saw that. I don't remember Betts coming back out later either...but Brashear was put in to play like Avery...the only problem was that he caused just as much stupidity for the Caps as Avery did for the Rangers...stupid move on the Caps part.
