| That's what I'm hoping for. We just took a 4-2 loss to the Islanders who are currently accepted as the worst team in the NHL...I'm really hoping we pick up a decent goaltender. We're never making it back with Raycroft or Budaj. They're both decent backups...just not starters. |

The Avs always seem to have bad goaltending They should really look into that this offseason. _________________

| You're just bitter because they stole Roy. But aside from that I totally agree. They definitely need to get some goaltending in. That and they're looking to trade Smyth...lack of goaltending+dumping our lead scorer=total fail |

I'm sure they will make a huge pitch for Backstrom if he doesn't get re-signed in the offseason. That's what I would do.
Budaj is a strong backup, but shaky as a starter. He's basically lost his job to Raycroft, who isn't doing so well either.
I strongly doubt Smyth will get traded...he said he wants to stay in Colorado...but on the other hand, he said that about Edmonton too!
There were rumors about Smyth or Hejduk out to Pittsburgh for Jordan Staal, it would be a good trade for both teams IMO.
I would also send out Leopold to Boston (assuming they lose the Pronger sweepstakes) for a young prospect.
Getting those 3 transactions done, however unlikely, would definitely improve the Avs next season. |

Ok, tonight's the final matchup of the Avs and Wings. The Wings just came off a 5-0 s/o last night so hopefully they're exhausted. My Avs are coming off a 5 loss streak so hopefully they'll get some extra energy to actually play...The only issue I see is Conks will be starting so we won't get the fortune of Ozzy's flaky play.
Here's the official preview for anyone interested in reading it:

| I'm going to bed...the Avs aren't winning a game EVER if they don't find a friggin goalie that's worth his weight in equipment. PATHETIC! |

| The Avs fired Giguere their GM...hopefully some restructuring and a new Avs team is in the works?! God I hope so. |

So I'm bored, and going through hockey withdrawls since it's not on again until Wednesday...so I watched the archived shootout of Avs vs Stars to see Ribiero's goal...and dear god...Wojtek Wolksi's goal was equally impressive...but that Ribiero goal was just insane...poor Budaj, the look on his face said so much. |

How 'bout them Avs blanking the Canucks 3-0?
Arth, I'm pretty sure you guys will jump high in the league this year with Anderson. Solid goalie. |

| You know, I never really heard of Wolski, but he's been instrumental in taking the Avs as far as they've gone the last couple years...Hopefully this will be a cup contender year with the revamp they've done. |

not quite a cup contender, but much better than last year.
Wolski was my rookie pick a couple years back and got me good points, and has progressively got better, he's in the top 75 of the league now. |

| We'll see. They just gotta keep up the good work and our goalies need to not take tips from Lou and everything will be good. |
