I figured I should make a thread for this, seeins how FS made one, and figured itd be a good idea. Starting tonight, I am playing midgets, Tier III I think, but I could be wrong. Midgets go up to November, then the REAL season starts for High School. We play every Sunday. Tonights a scrimmage, because we have two teams, and thats how they will evaluate us. Smile

Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad I did HORRIBLE tonight. Sad I played the first half, 35 minutes, of the game (although due to time errors, it turned out to be a lot more than the second half)(the second half was only like, 15-20 minutes), and i let in, gulp, 7 goals. Crying or Very sad I was getting used to my new, bigger pads, it being my first time using them and all, and the thigh board kept getting caught up with my pants and messing up my moving, which was already hindered, again, due to the fact im getting used to bigger pads. The thigh board interfirence was the reason of at least 2 goals, and the others, were either movement errors, defense breakdown, or i f**ked up.

Not a good first impression, but i already knew the coaches, and they knew i had an off night.

BTW, the new pads are only 10" wide. does anyone know the reasoning behind that? Confused

Well I could have told you not to try out your new pads for the first time on a night that counts. When I first tried out my 12.8's last summer against Gorham, I got scored on 5 times because it felt awkward. The thigh boards is probably because your pants are too short, that also happened to me when I got my new pads. I would say either get bigger pants or just take them off. If you're full butterfly you should never really use them. I took mine off a few months ago and I haven't been hit yet.

I don't know why they would be 10". Did it say that on the pad? Because that is pretty weird. Why not have your pads at the biggest width.

Are they intermediate sized? Are you sure you're measuring them correctly?

Why would you wear your new pads for the first time in a game that counts? Always try them on at leaste 2-3 free skates of practices before you do a game. At your telling the truth Aubrun. Not like somepople that say that they win every game and get a shutout all the time.

it was basicly a free skate, they just kept score. it was an inter-squad scrimmage.

and i did find out, they were intermidietes. so i sent them back, and am getting RX5's insted, because those 32" pads are senior sized. the only difference between the RX7 and RX5 is that on the RX7, there are a bunch of differnt strap choices, for instance, if you wanted the top of the pad to break more, you move the top strap up more

the guy at the store said if i didnt want that pad, go with RBK, because there simalar Rolling Eyes Laughing i dont think hes a goalie Laughing ive tried that kind of pad before, and i dontl like those pre-curved designs, so i told my mom, "i want itech, but if you want to spend $600 insted of $400, then i want vahguns" Laughing long story short, i ordered the RX5's last night. the onlt thing i might not like about them is if they have a big calf gaurd like my 4.8's did, cuz that slows down my slide a lot Sad
