Woot!

Grats, boys!

The opposing goalies were amazing, but the Whalers got hundereds of shots on goal through the series. Tough luck, but those goalies will be noticed, thats for sure.

The Lady Whalers finished the week with the win over Mattituck. Edwards said her team could have scored more against the Lady Tuckers, but a number of players had Advanced Placement exams and they were tired. “My team is a lot of brains,” the coach said, explaining that her girls are as smart in the classroom as they are talented on the field.

Pierson got out to an early 3-0 lead and the Lady Tuckers scored their only run on an error and two hits in the fifth inning, but the Lady Whalers shut down the inning with a rare triple play. Stafford struck out 11 and she allowed three hits during her seven-inning effort on Friday. Junior Sami James was 1 for 2 with an RBI and one run and senior Natalie Abbene was 2 for 4.
