That's because Eminem came out with rap that truly had a meaning and made you think...and made it sound really good and get you hyped. Pretty unique for his time. I like rap that gets me pumped up...kinda like hustlin by Rick Ross...that's one I'll listen to before I play.
As for the bands Otter, he did say "most people have never heard of/if they have they don't like it" Kinda covers all bands when you think about it. I don't know a single one out there that most people (as in 85%+ of the population) have heard and liked. |

fair enough - i missed the part about if they have they didn't like...
although, some of them are some pretty major bands, but I guess also they're for a generation above most people on this forum... I'm in my 30s I grew up on most of that music...
as for rap - i ahve to agree - Eminem did something that inst' really found in alot of mainstream rap these days...
of course, I prefer the old standbys... Run DMC, Beasties, KoolMoeD, guys of that nature back in the day. _________________ random spelling mistakes added on purpose to annoy those that are annoyed by it. |

Not that anyone really cares, but my band won battle of the bands the other day!
And just to throw in another band: Sense Fail. Anyone listen to them. I just started to, and I love them. _________________

YAY
Maybe it was because I grew up in Eminem's time? I hate a lot of the new rappers, they don't have any concept of how to throw together decent lyrics with a good beat. Either their beat is really lame and nobody wants to listen to it, or you get a great beat with craptacular lyrics... typically about h*e's and b*tches. Eminem had the balance. He was pretty much the God of rap. |

I like two songs by them: One Eight Seven and Can't Be Saved _________________

Thanks
I like their first album best. I was listening to their latest one (Life is not a waiting room) and the production is horrible. _________________

Can't Be Saved is a kickass song. First listened to it after playing Guitar Hero. Then started listening to some other songs by them... Buried a Lie and Calling All Cars are two of my other favourites.
Veej... you're a Hasek fan, and you won't listen to Eminem. WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU?! |
