Hey all, I'm Grant. Almost 41 now and have played floor hockey 3 of the last 4 years-minus one for a separated shoulder playing football -and all four years playing intramural floor hockey in college...I'm ready to make the transition to ice in the C-Beginner league and am looking forward to learning from all you guys/gals who have taken a puck to the head for all of us goalies!
I have a ton of other activities going on and wonder how this will fit with two kids(part-time custody helps)and cycling, kayaking, playing various instruments(french horn, acoustic/bass guitar, drums, ukulele!)...but as one member said in their signature..."You have to want to play goalie" and I want to play goalie!...so thanks in advance for all your help and encouragement. |

| Since my first post was a picture of my pads my second one might as well be me introducing myself...im Eric, im 24 and have played forward for 20 years now and goalie off and on throughout the seasons in practice and what not...finally got bored of playing forward all the time and wanted to jump in the net more often... other than that i just want to learn more about playing net and hopefully learn some tricks of the trade from everyone here |

Hockey started late for me (2 years ago) and grew up around motorcycles all my life until a crash took me out of the sport doctor said stay off the bike for 3 years then we moved to a new town where they had a league of about 5 teams and goalie seemed like the most badass position to play so bought all the equipment from some of my bikes we sold then practiced alot catch up to the other guys and i never get tired of playing its amazing _________________ If you aint first.....your last |

Hello all ,
My Name is Harley age 37 this may.
Would consider myself new to tending. Played about 10 years ago for a few seasons with borrowed gear... none of which fit right. Loved it and going to hopefully get back into it this summer/fall.
Nice to meet you all , and any information from the veterans would be greatly appreciated ! Been reading alot about gear and play styles.
Thanks for your time ! |

Hi all! Not only am I new to the forum, my last netminding (street) was done wearing sneakers with a Mylec stick and a down filled jacket roughly 28 years ago. That lasted about a year or so. I'm 43 now.
I picked up hockey again (ice) about 19 years ago and played out. Originally my lack of skill and funds kept me away from attempting goalkeeping, but then I became a regular fixture on adult league teams and the years flew by.
Now I feel it is time to play the position I have always desired. I look forward to being part of this community, although I may not have much to contribute for a while. I am still gathering info to determine what gear to purchase. It appears I have a few hundred posts to catch up on!!
