Just wanted to see how biased a poll I can get on a goalie forum...

With the NHL's swift rule interpretation with regard to Avery's antics in front of Brodeur during the Rangers/Devils First Round Series... many have been debating believe it or not, in favour of what he did. While many feel that his antics were unsportsmanlike and have no place in the game...

What's your take?

About 10 years ago I had a fool do that to me. I broke his nose with my blocker.

I'm not going to vote because I don't like any of the options.

But I like Sean Avery. He's probably up there in my top 10 favorite NHL skaters. I haven't liked everything he's done but he can be funny and exciting

He got in Broduer's face and was looking directly at him, about a foot from his face, waving his stick around, and talking to him

Oh, I think I saw that on a highlight reel or something. Do you think he knew he was breaking a direct rule (as seen here => http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app/?service=page&page=NewsPage&articleid=360438)? From a certain point, he just looked like he was playing in the playoffs and he wanted to win, and distracting the goalie is one way to get a goal. I also think Brodeur acted a little too calmly towards him. A nice stick to the crotch would've been my fix.

It was very unsportsmanlike. Besides that, at one point his stick hit Brodeurs mask. That should have been a high sticking penalty.

On the other hand, it was kind of funny. I would have liked to see him go back in time and try that on Ron Hextall. Twisted Evil

If he was that lucky...

Avery is the product of the Instigator rule...

It'd be nice to hear an explanation from whoever voted that there was absolutely nothing wrong with Avery's actions...
