Alright, there is a main concern I have on this Forum and it certainly isn't helping us compete with G-E-W and GSBB who have many more regular members and more members, and both forum have usually over 30 people signed on at once, when we only have 3 or 4. And even with us, there is no shortage of talk, but very little is hockey talk, very little. Most posts are in General Discussion. There are some in the other topics, but General Discussion is by far in the lead. The random threads about football and cars are irrelevant on a Goalie Forum. I'm not saying don't post on them, but that thread has 7 pages when gear reviews and advice threads don't even have 7 posts. When people look for forums like these, they want help. And when they look at ours, it looks more like a random forum than a goalie forum because there's something like 12000 posts in General Discussion and 1500 posts in Gear Reviews. And even when some members even come out of General Discussion, they just spam the other threads with random and irrelevant posts, nothing constructive. So with that said, there will be an ALMOST zero tolerance policy with going off topics on any threads outside of General Discussion. The only exception will be if it goes off into a relevant topic about hockey. If it goes into anything about jelly beans, muffins, bubble gum, I don't care...It will be deleted. There is a Random Speech thread if you want to branch off from another thread and talk about something else. I'm trying to be as sincere as possible with this and I know the biggest offenders of derailing threads will be insulted by this and think it's stupid, but I'm trying to help this forum grow and turn into a very good source for information, help, and advice.

With that said, I would also like to see people posting in Goalie News and relevant things that happen around the world in hockey, there is a tons of it being played. And, I know you can talk about anything in General Discussion, however, there are many noteworthy threads that could be made that just aren't. So if you see something interesting on nhl.com or any other hockey website, post it. I'm just asking for a little more contributions that are hockey related so this can be a more enjoyable forum for the members that want to learn about the game and what is going on. So, especially the regulars who come on, it's your choice either way, but please post more hockey topics and stop helping threads come off topic. It would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks. This thread isn't really up for discussion. Montreal if you have anything to add, go ahead.

So if something stays on topic in General Descussion, like Fantasy sports, than it won't be deleted, even if it isn't about hockey?

No, I won't delete the threads that go off topic, I'll delete the posts that go off topic. I won't do much, if any, deleting in General Discussion just because the threads aren't helping the other members on here. If the thread is hockey related, like the new scoreboard the Leafs got or something, I will keep those on topic. But if it's Fantasy Football or Cars, I won't delete the posts unless a fight starts.

EDIT: As I said, this thread...Not up for debate. If you have a legit question like auburn did, feel free to ask it on this thread. If you have an argument or suggestion, PM me with it.

Well, as the new Forum (hockey talk) was brought out from the scolding hot stove today, there will be some movement (threads) flowing into the Forum. If you feel the need to post a " OMG!! Wehr teh f*kcs Meh Thraed?" post, fear not. Please check into the new Hockey Talk forum and check it out before sending me a PM. If you want any of your "My team" or "My 2008-2009 Season" threads, to be saved from the crumbling rubble that is general discussion, please send me a PM asking me to move your thread into the save fluffy pillow land that is hockey talk. Please refrain from adding Hockey topics to general discussion, when people want to find stuff, the last place they want to look is in the dark, loud, screaming, basement (general discussion).

I am very excited to somewhat announce a new special surprise that will be given on a very special day of the year. I can't announce what it is yet, because it may, or may not happen. All I can say is that if the moderators and admin ask you nicely for a little video clip of you playing, or an action shot, this will be added to the surprise, and you want to be on the surprise. I will announce the date of this surprise soon enough. Just check back to this thread for more information. Just you wait your pretty little heads.

Also...If you really want to help out. If everyone makes on USEFUL thread about hockey news, tips, or reviews every week and everyone made like 5 good posts per week...That would be very helpful on getting the forum back on track.

I'm against even bringing it back up. I need to PM with montreal about it, though. He deleted the rest of the religion and politics thread, so I don't know where he stands on it. I think it's just going to be a new member repelant because that is a sensitive subject where disagreements lead to fights and we don't need that. It will end up serving as another distraction for regular members to contribute even less to the hockey related talk on this forum.

I don't know, maybe if we pick up the hockey talk and hockey threads I would consider it more, but right now after this Board Notice, especially, I don't think this should be a topic.

Uhhh... it's there because it's random, not because it has to relate to anything Rolling Eyes

Otherwise you'll have people talking about stupid, pointless stuff in other threads. Leave random speech open.
