2008 Goalie Forum Fantasy Football League

Ok, this is going to be a very basic league. Head to Head. There will be 2 confrences, with 6 teams each. Your team name will be after an NFL, CFL or AFL team name. The top 2 teams in each conference after the regular season (weeks 1-14) will play in a confrence title game in week 15. the two winners will play in the Goalie Forum Fantasy Football Cup. I will realease a scedule after all 12 positions are filled. (or as many as we have by the draft)(if we have, for example, 9, then there will be 2 confrences, one with 4, the other, 5) The draft will be on July 30th, at 8:00 pm. if this time cant fit your scedule, i will do my best to make a new one, but i cant promise anything. as i mentioned earlier, this is a very basic leauge. we will only have a starting line-up, no back-ups. however, if a player gets injured, then you can place him on the IR. then, you can fill his spot. once he is healthy, he will return to the starting line-up, and the back-up will be realeased. any roster moves that you want to make, PM them to me. the draft will consist of 9 rounds, and in them, you must fill the starting line-up of: 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 DST and 1 K. the points for stats will be as follows:
Passing
20 yards=1 point
TD=6 points
Turnover=-2 points

Rushing
10 yards=1 point
TD=6 points
Turnover=-2 points

Reciving
10 yards=1 point
TD=6points
Turnover=-2 points

Kicking
FG<40 yards=2 points - Miss= -2
FG 40-50 yards=3 points - Miss= - 1
FG>50 yards=4 points - Miss= 0
XP=1 point - Miss= -3

Defense
Shutout= 5 points
2-9= 5 points
10-19= 3 points
20-29= 2 points
30-39= 1 point
40+= 0 points
sack= 1 points
safety= 3 points
Takeaway= 2 points
TD= 7 points (cuz they dont happen often)

You should have checked with everyone before you made a time. I'm going camping on the 26th to about the 6th or 7th of August. I say we either wait a few weeks or do it sooner.

If there were 12 teams you would have sooo much work to do and it probably wouldn't be all that accurate. I vote Yahoo. And if I can't be the Patriots I'm Brady2Moss. Unless Efe wants to help me out because I've been a Pats fan my whole life Wink

Lol. What about the fact that I've probably been a Pats fan longer than your whole life? Laughing

I don't mind handing over the Patriots but in that case if its going to be team-based I'll opt out. Can't see myself playing with another team...

Auburn's idea seems a bit different (teams as opposed to players) so maybe people will want to go that way for an interesting break from the usual fantasy structure.

Why dont you guys have the "Efe Patriots" and the "FS Patriots" or something, I am undecided if I will play or not but if I do I will play as the "Cardinals"

ok, first, efe, that was just the name, no your players. second, i made the league.
the id # is 179814 and the password is hockey. to join the league, you need a yahoo account. if you want to play, but you dont have one, its real easy to make. you need to go under fantasy football '08, and go under join a league. then, click on join custom, and enter the id and the password. the draft is aug 9th at 8pm Very Happy

and your team name can be whatever, dosnt have to be an NFL team

yeah i joined the yahoo league auburn made. I was going to use the team name "cardinals" but I figured it would be funner to use an original team name, however I did go with a Cardinals inspired color scheme (cept for the blue)

Doesnt' yahoo have an auto draft thing? you prerank your players and it does the sorting for you? Seems like a simplier way to do things if people have issues with the time of the draft. (i know, it's not a perfect thing as in preranking you may not get positional help when you wanted it type of thing, but it does make it nicer for people who can't make a draft time.... like say... me.)
